Lets talk about it

With so much about Soukhamthath's bad fight IQ for taking the fight to the ground...

What about Sugar's fight IQ for getting it back to standing and trying to keep it standing?

O'malley worked his way up to standing instead of just riding out the round on the ground
O'malley also tried to stuff a takedown instead of just accepting going to the ground and riding out the round

Surely he's just as dumb, no?

I'd say it's even dumber. I was wondering why no one else has talked about this.

I mean, Soukhamthath was extremely dumb for taking the fight to the ground, but at least he had a non-zero chance to win on the ground. O'Malley was trying to stand up (which he did at one point, only to hop on one foot and get taken down again). If O'Malley was able to get up like he tried, he would have had zero chance to win.

O'Malley was dumber for sure, but fortunately, he was less effective in implementing his even more idiotic gameplan, thus he was able to win.

Maybe he was trying not to make the ref aware of his leg. I don't know. He got the W so I guess that's why he isn't under as much scrutiny.

i didnt watch the fight so idrk what happened, but it looks like thats the moment he finds out he cant walk on that foot. He gets up and he starts walking on it and as he walks on it you can see changes his mind

No, you're losing if you're laying underneath a guy.

I was thinking the same thing... but I think Omalley wanted to put on a show with one leg. If he schooled soukmathat on one foot he'd be an instant star.

It's reverse psychology

He tried to give his opponent an impression that he doesn't want to go down to the ground so that his opponent would go for a takedown.

I was so frustrated with the other guy I didn't even think about this. Probably lowest fight iq we've ever seen in the cage. Who was the ref again?

this, 1000% this,

also at the time I thought, hes doing that for the benefit of the judges, he is getting taken down, but working back to his feet to negate the TD, so the judges couldn't call it a 10-8 if he had been layed on for the whole round

whoaa! If he seriously have this mindset in the middle of that chaos then he's fight IQ is GOAT level!

Yup, this is exactly right.

He wanted that highlight KO while hopping on one foot, the type of shit people talk about for years.

I applaud his effort honestly.

Go in there and show us better TS. Have you ever been in a fight ?
