I miss the days when we looked forward to a fighters next fight so it would be to showcase growth. Especially when they were eager to get back in there.

Now it feels like fighters are Ok to sit on the sidelines and wait for their social media posts to bide their time til they can talk their way into fights again.

O’Malley strikes me as the latter.

100%. a lot of people point to UFC refusing to sign better fighters as why the product is going down in quality, which is true, but this is something way less talked about. why get better when i can just wait until someone who matches up well for my style and then shit talk him on social media until people get behind it and UFC sees it as a profitable fight. Colby does this all the time and Khamzat tried to get fight this way also.

Thank you I’m glad someone else acknowledges the bullshit. It’s sad man, I remember the days where a good ol’ number 1 contender fight was something we got excited for.
