Sean O’Malley Shades Dana White On PPV Price Increase

is dana the one who makes that call? if all the numbers are up like they say why would they raise prices now. a lot of fight fans are low income idiots. always wonder how well ppv's would do if they were only $10-20
They'd have a shit ton more buys.

I actually have a good story about that. Dave & Buster's near my house (who was an official sponsor of the UFC) stopped showing pay-per-views after Jose Aldo versus Mendez 2. To make it worse the location was the original flagship location that's near their headquarters

You know your business model is shit when even your own sponsors won't show your content.........
Dave & Busters is even worse than Buffalo Wild Wings as far as noise! I was there for some kid's party or another - not the worst, there's beer and huge TV's - when I notice Bellator is on. The server said I needed to download an App on my phone to hear it. F that. I can only imagine the never ending alerts from a D&B app.

Lol ONEfc has better fighters and stream for free, I barely watch the UFC anymore, when I do it's just the fights I want to see, I couldn't tell you any new prospect in the UFC, except for Khamzat.

But I do know OneFC fighter are better with a higher level of skill being displayed.

75USD is 94.58 Canadian dollars. That’s absurd for a sporting event. 69.99$USD was already very expensive. They will 100% be losing money with me. I used to purchase 5-6 PPV’s a year, but that won’t happen anymore. I’m only spending that type of money on 10/10 cards with 3 title defenses. If you want me to spend close to 100$ for 5 fights, this is the type of card I’m expecting:
Ngannou vs Jones
Oliveira vs Islam
Yan vs Dillashaw
Poirier vs Diaz
Colby vs Masvidal

Yeah but the thing is, up to this point, the HD PPV's have "only" been $64.99 CAD. I was always a bit puzzled on that cus I figured if they charge $64.99 in the States then I'd be paying $70+

But every cable bill last year stated $64.99. So I guess they charge Canadians the same price as Americans and don't take the dollar difference into account.

Did Dana really just increase the cost of PPV after that "Pay Fighters More" callout?

how do you explain record breaking revenue if their business model is shit?

ESPN is now footing the bill regardless of how the PPVs sell. There also having way more events (basically becoming an affordable volume content provider instead of a premier showcase event).

the ufc cares very much about their next deal. espn isn't just happy footing bills and not getting the revenue behind it. so yes, they all care alot about ppv buys. this is all part of their business model.

The internet is undefeated, skittlehead!

If PPVs were $20, even 90% of sherdoggers would buy most of them

$75...? Only a McGregor headliner is worthy

I used to buy most PPVs, back when they were $39.99, but now I couldn't even imagine paying for one.

Streaming is too easy, too convenient, too free.
