You say he turns 37, All the more reason for him to keep things moving best he can he looked great in his last fight and if he didn't sustain injury History suggests he not only could, but would be more than willing to fight in a 4-5 month period from his last fight.

Again, Volk also lost his title in a 4 month turnaround which he himself admitted was rushed.

It doesn't matter what he did in the past. Recency trumps all here. Feel free to @ me and I'll happily eat my words if I'm wrong. However, I will be absolutely shocked if Volk decides to do a 3 month turnaround at this point in time. UFC 318 is 3 months away. That's an even shorter turnaround than when he lost to Topuria. I just don't see it happening.

He just had a 5 round war with Lopes. He took damage. He had a pretty decent cut. UFC 318 would be a 3 month turnaround. Again, I just don't see it happening. But I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again.

UFC 317 & 318 have no main event and only Pantoja, Islam, and Jon Jones are available. And that's assuming Merab fights @ UFC 316.

Unless they've decided to strip Jon Jones, then they NEED Merab to headline one of UFC 316, 317, or 318.

UFC is known to be a little creative. They can just make some Interim Title up or roll out a BMF title fight and boom done.

totally reasonable and possible. If dricus is only a bit injured even he could be moved to 319, and Poatan vs magomed 2 could be moved forward to 318 and dricus vs khamzat on 319. I still see the options. I think Merab will probably fight between 316, 317, 318 btw, But they dont HAVE to. There are options. Either way if they are giving a shot to Sean, they can just as easily justify giving one to Yan

And where might the heavyweight championship fight be in this lineup??
