I remember listening to some podcast with some Scottish guy once and he was describing how in the 1980s there were ice cream truck wars in Scotland. Like people getting killed over who had the best turf to sell popsicles, hilarious.

So these estates are the ones where the clans mostly operate? Is it pretty clean cut with one estate being Lyon another being Daniels or is it much more muddy than that?

I don't know much more about it tbh bud. I doubt it is that clean cut and it's not just the Lyons and Daniels clan running the whole show. Like most countries drugs here are huge business from kids smoking a bit of herb to ravers dropping pills and snorting ching to the junkies popping blues and shooting h. There are lots of other families and crime gangs doing their own shit but I guess it's not that big a city so most of them will cross paths sooner or later and it's easy to step on other players toes. It's also just a matter of time before the foreign gangs start to take a hold like they have done down south in England so the situation will always be precarious and evolving.

I was listening to the excellent podcast “they walk among us”. There was a compelling two part episode about organized crime in Scotland in particular the “alien abductions”.
As a yank I have no familiarity with organized crime in Scotland. But during the episode they mentioned two “clans” in Glasgow, the Daniels clan and the Lyons clan. And about their war?/blood feud.

Anybody here read up on this stuff and can give more info or pint in the direction of more info

No idea who the foreign players are here now and tbh afaik they haven't made any significant impact on the drugs scene as of yet. We've got loads of Eastern Europeans here now who run a lot of low level petty crime gangs, pickpockets, burglars, scammers etc and they are big into trafficking girls in for the sex trade.

I noticed that Norval’s funeral his pallbearers were wearing bikers outfits. Are 1%ers a big thing in the UK?

Also I noticed in the story about Paul Ferris it mentioned that after Arthur jr. Was killed during his funeral procession the car passed a vehicle with two of the suspected actors in his death inside it. Both were friends and associates of Paul Ferris.
After the longest trial in Scottish history Paul Ferris was acquitted. During the trial was it proven that two men were involved? Was there a concerted effort to find out who killed the two men because it seems pretty obvious it was carried out by the Arthur side
Also it was talking about Ferris’s books and now movie about how he is trying to reinvent himself as a celebrity. Is there an acceptance of this?

Yeah those two in the car were Glover and Hanlon from Ferris' side and it is pretty much common knowledge that it was old Arthur who ordered the hit.

Ferris has written 3+ books, had a movie made on his life and is somewhat of a celebrity nowadays, some will accept it and some will complain that it glorifies organised crime.

Here's an interesting wee article for you about deceased Glasgow hard man Frank "The Iceman" McPhee. By all accounts this cunt was a proper loon and well feared in the Gangster fraternity. He was allegedly responsible for at least a couple of murders himself but he ended up coming to a sticky end courtesy of a well placed bullet from a sniper rifle after he fucked with a younger member of the Daniel clan and pissed off the wrong people.

I love these topics. Not to derail this thread but is Scotland a good place to go to pubs and get laid? How are the women? I have been to London, Dublin and Gallway in Ireland, and Barcelona. All were great cities to hook up in.

As a Scot I have to say that we really got the short straw when it comes to women. Most of them are ugly bastards but there are some decent ones around who are worth a drilling. If you go out in Glasgow or Edinburgh you really shouldn't have much problem sowing your oats so to speak.

LMAO! Thanks for the heads up and advice. I think Oktoberfest in Germany is next on my bucket list but Glasgow sounds like will be on there soon as well.
