The commission can overturn the decision.
Sportsbetcom.au is paying out the people who bet on MJ... That's how bad that decision was
Ouch.

It was a legit dec no doubt, no matter what anyone says. Obviously the 1st goes to johnson, the 2nd was close and the third goes to dariush for sure. So since the 2nd was close then it shouldn't be a surprise either way right?
Generally yes but you(general you, not you in particular) still have to justify or be able to understand the justification for giving the round to one fighter over the other.
The explanations for giving Dariush round 2 have mostly been debunked with the actual strike totals. The only arguments left are flimsy. Now it's an attempt to devalue MJ's higher activity, shots landed, and accuracy by saying the body shots should be dismissed or asserting MJ's head strikes(comprised of overhand lefts, straight lefts, right hooks) were inferior to Dariush's jabs.
The fight was competitive throughout can close overall but the rounds were fairly clear to score under the scoring system.

Round 2(which gave BD the fight)
MJ 35 of 80
BD 22 of 62
Johnson was more active, more accurate, and landed more. BD landed slighty more head strikes but was dwarfed in body strikes. It doesn't break down the type of strikes so BD's total includes jabs.
Dariush was also 0 for 4 on TDs though that factors in less.
