Tense Teaser Trailer for Sci-Fi Thriller MORGAN Starring Kate Mara

Morgan-Teaser-Poster-Dragonlord.jpg

The first teaser trailer for Morgan has landed online. The debut film from Luke Scott (commercial director and son of Ridley Scott), stars Kate Mara as a corporate troubleshooter sent to evaluate a terrifying incident at a remote, top-secret lab where she discovers the scientists have created a new form of evil inhabiting a human form.

EW reveals more details on the thrills and chills Morgan has in store. Turns out the title character, played by Anya Taylor-Joy of this year’s horror breakout The Witch, is a synthetic life form engineered with enhanced strength, exceptional intelligence, and an innate connection with the online world. She also just doesn’t understand the morality of what it means to be human, and given that she’s evolving at a rapid rate, that means her first adolescent outburst reveals just how dangerous scientific progress can be.

Morgan also boasts a tremendous supporting cast, including Toby Jones, Rose Leslie, Boyd Holbrook, Michelle Yeoh, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Paul Giamatti and is set to hit theaters on September 2nd.

Why would you build it with enhanced strength?

This seems like a decent popcorn flick but nothing more imo

I kinda got a hollow man vibe from it with the underground facilty

Teaser didn't really give me enough information to hook me.

Looks like that dude with the huge forehead is forever going to be typecast as a scientist with a penchant for doing ethnically questionable shit.

Kate Mara and Noomi Rapace need to get it on in front of the camera, IMO.

Also, I didn't like that song in the background.

Agreed. It never made sense to me in AI movies how the AI has super human strength. Being durable and able to take a bunch of hits make sense making it stronger than humans doesn't make much sense at all. I'll watch this movie but I need better explanation for why it's so strong other than "just because".

Full Trailer for MORGAN Unleashes Anya Taylor-Joy’s Artificial Human

20th Century Fox has released the first full Morgan trailer online. The debut film from Luke Scott (commercial director and son of Ridley Scott) stars Kate Mara as a corporate troubleshooter sent to evaluate a terrifying incident at a remote, top-secret lab where she discovers the scientists have created a new form of evil inhabiting a human form.

This modern-day spin on Frankenstein looks promising, especially when you’ve got The Witch star Anya Taylor-Joy in the title role. If anything is detracting from the film, it’s the Labor Day weekend release date, which is usually a sign of dumping the film. That being said, it’s possible that Fox doesn’t know what they have or that it’s just too niche to be widely appreciated in the heart of the summer or the fall seasons.

The film also stars Rose Leslie, Boyd Holbrook, Michelle Yeoh, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Paul Giamatti. Morgan opens September 2nd.

Hmmn... I think I liked it better before I saw her psychic powers in the new trailer.

With that cast I want to believe they're not dumping it, but... yeah.

I was more hyped before I saw the trailer. Looks like that Indie movie that won a bunch of awards about artificial intelligence meets the standard superhuman experiment thriller gone awry.

I hope Ridley Scotts son actually has some directing chops and the ensemble cast they put together just didn't do it as a favor to daddy.

I also hope he has directing chops because either way I'm sure they'll be 4 or 5 more of his movies thrown down our throats in near future.

@Dragonlordxxxxx , have you done mentioned "The Mind's Eye" in the MNN thread? That looks like it could be a cult classic.
Not yet. Just posted it at MNN thanks to you.

Trailer for THE MIND'S EYE Brings Back '80s-Style Horror

The-Minds-Eye-062716-Dragonlord.jpg

The makers of The Mind’s Eye love their ’80s genre cinema and they wear that affection as a badge of honor. Like he did with his debut feature, Almost Human, writer/director Joe Begos has made a horror movie that looks like it time-warped straight out of 1982. The synth soundtrack is appropriately icy, the practical make-up effects nasty, and the performances pitched just to the right of hammy.

The trailer for the film has arrived online and you will probably know whether or not this is your kind of movie after watching it. The Mind’s Eye caters to a very specific audience of horror nerds. This film killed amongst a certain subsection of horror fans at last year’s Fantastic Fest, where it also took home the award for Best Horror Director. The Mind’s Eye is set to open on August 5, 2016.

Synopsis: Zack Connors and Rachel Meadows were born with incredible psychokinetic capabilities. When word of their supernatural talents gets out, they find themselves the prisoners of Michael Slovak, a deranged doctor intent on harvesting their powers. After a daring escape, they are free from his sinister institution, but the corrupt doctor will stop at nothing to track them down so that he may continue to siphon their gifts for his own use.
