Schaub tells the story of his last fight

Not to knock the guy because he's doing better than I am, but he's such a clown. He seems very dishonest with himself. Maybe that's the key to making it in entertainment. Be delusional.

To a degree. But Schaub was dishonest with himself as an MMA fighter too and only got motivated to stop when Rogan put him on blast while handing him opportunities. If it weren't Rogan it is safe to say Schaub would be in Bellator getting knocked out by Ryan Bader.

Damn for a guy who doesn't like to be the "former ufc fighter" he's talking about it alot!

what else is he going to talk about? he's not interesting at all, aside from being a former pro fighter.

The bar was set really low but this is much better than other stand up attempts I've seen from him.

  • He didn't quit fighting the night of the Browne fight, he was very much still trying to fight after and even started the Big Brown Slim Down to try to start fighting at 205. Joe Rogan sat him down for the talk on Dec 11, 2014. Late May/Early June 2015 he was still try to getting to 205 as the BBSD was still going, but the Reebok sponsorship news broke around then, and that's when he finally started to really back away from fighting.
  • He was nowhere close to getting a UFC title shot, but in his special he made it seem like he was on the cusp of winning the UFC Heavyweight belt during the Travis Browne fight.
  • Royce Gracie vs Ken Shamrock was not the first fight in UFC history, it was the second round of UFC 1. There were at least 4 fights before it. Also he says he had it on VHS tape in 93, it took place Nov 12, 1993. How fast would it have gotten to VHS and distributed at that time? I guess it could have been recorded on VHS from the PPV, so he could have actually had it at that time, but he's still wrong about the first fight.
  • When Travis Browne was finishing the fight, Schaub was going in and out of consciousness according to the special, but in every podcast that he talked about this finish he said he was alert, protecting his head, listening to his coaches call out the time left in the round, and talking to the ref telling him not to stop the fight.
  • He says that Travis Browne's walk out music was super intimidating but in recaps of the fight on his own podcast he said he remembers thinking that Browne's music was 'alright and he's heard better'.

This.

From what I understand, Schaub took the details of every story in that special and massaged them in a way only Schaub can.

AKA, this way:

Jeez, it’s a Comedian’s story? It will be embellished. U think Chappelle sat next to a public wanker?
If you don't see the difference between funny comedic embellishment by Chappelle and a number of blatant unfunny lies in a "this happened to me" story by a braindead CTE Alf lookalike without jokes then you should never write another comment ever again

Don't buy his tickets. That literally was a comedian on stage. He also garnered laughs. Enough people find him funny to have a career. It's okay to enjoy hating, just admit you're hating.

@Wadtucket is just jealous of his comedy success.

And nope Wad he doesn't look like Alf.

Didn't Browne tell him after the fight was stopped "that's what you get for talking shit" lol

All the more reason to STOP FUCKING POSTING ABOUT BRENDAN SCHAUB! JESUS PEOPLE PLEAAASSSSSEEEEEE!

A comprehensible list of all the lies he tells in this story below

Source:

Claim: He says Royce Gracie vs Ken Shamrock was the first ever fight in UFC 1.

Truth: Their fight was sandwiched in a tournament bracket. Wasn’t the first or last fight of the night.

Claim: 10th or 11th ranked Brendan was set to fight 2nd ranked heavyweight Travis Browne.

Truth: Travis was ranked 3rd at the time and Brendan wasn’t even in the top 15.

Claim: UFC 181 took place at the MGM Grand and there were 25,000 people in attendance.

Truth: UFC 181 took place at Mandalay Bay and there was less than 10,000 people in attendance.

Claim: As he entered the arena it was like a movie and everyone was chanting his name.

Truth: There was light applause from the crowd and you can’t see or hear anyone chanting his name. One guy is giving him a thumbs down.

Claim: Will Smith, Ice-T, and Leonardo DiCaprio were in the front row.

Truth: None of those celebrities were at UFC 181. Separately they’ve each been at different UFC’s. The celebs in attendance at UFC 181 were Laura Prepon, Craig Robinson, and Jeremy Piven.

Claim: Brendan had pomade in his hair and looked like an asshole.

Truth: His hair was fully buzzed. No pomade. He still looked like an asshole tho.

Claim: While Bruce Buffer was announcing him, Brendan was staring at Leonardo reaching his hand out for help. He tells us to watch it and see for ourselves.

Truth: Leo wasn’t even there and Brendan was pacing back and forth with his hands down.

Claim: As soon as the fight began he sprinted towards his opponent.

Truth: He took one step forward and was immediately backed up to the cage.

If I was able to prove all those lies against the widely documented events he mentions, imagine the amount of lies he tells about events that aren’t easily fact-checked.

I get that comedians lie to be funny, but when the true story is documented and so far from what you says it is, why lie so badly?

Schaub "lied" on his comedy special!? Are you guys telling me Dave Chappelle lied about the baby selling weed at 3 AM in the ghetto too??? What about Chip? He's fake too!?!

I get lying in comedy. I know they all do it to be funny, but not when we all know the true story.

Actually quite enjoyed that. Shrub can tell an entertaining story, whether it be fiction or not.

No every legitimate comedian I've heard on the topic has said that making stories up is almost always obvious and less funny than just being observant and speaking from the heart.

Of course you have moments to embellish, a drug dealing baby is obviously exaggerated to set the tone but isn't meant to trick anyone. I've heard it's usually the mundane shit that is made up to give the truth more weight to it or else people wouldn't believe it.

Being able to tell a true story in a funny way is what makes a real comedian, anyone can make up some bullshit but it's not going to resonate. There's a reason Schaub got so much heat for his lack of talent.

Thought it was funny but I am super hight alone on a hotel room so no surprising.

Then I saw the comments and was ashamed I thought it was funny.

I should get an escort!
What you should do is stop having an opinion based on other people's opinion

He's supposedly drawing from a real experience though.

I mean they all are. Real life is not always funny. Comedy is mostly a dramatization of real life. I think Schaub sucks but the over analysis of the content of his comedy just ain't it chief! It's not even needed to point out how shitty of a comedian he is.
