I'm curious to know what americans think "left" is... The only American mainstream political figure I've ever seen in my time that barely resembles somewhat of a moderate social-democrat is Bernie Sanders, but appart from that, it's only moderate right and straight up right winged parties. Comes from both angles; SJW wanting equality but sometimes being overzealous; then the Far Right report on the SJW & spend more time on culture wars than the SJW's do. Pretty much anything that pushes for equal opportunity gets labelled "fixed outcome" / commy. Rinse and Repeat. All of this is to distract from the biggest issues (US health care / government poorly spending tax money).

I'm curious to know why you think your country's definition of left wing politics should be considered the universal definition? It's pretty well known that every country has their own political compass.
