Started Boardwalk Empire, great opener. Buscemi is an underrated actor.

I'm really happy he got that role. Dude's had a great career prior to that, but he needed something defining. Got that with BWE

Won some money playing poker last night at the track. Would have been a lot more but some 95 year old guy flopped trip 3s and I had top 2 pair. About the worst flop possible, thought he was chasing flush, didn't even think he possibly had trips. Lost around 300 just in that hand alone. But I left up a few hundred bucks, so it was a decent night.

Mad max was awesome. Saw it last night.

Nice

Not so nice - jobs report significantly higher than expected. Fed finna say fuck the IMF and raise rates in a couple months. Shit sammich

What does that mean in English?

The economy is doing better than expected in terms,of job growth, so interest rates will likely be raised soon...

Oh. Glad Im not buying anything anytime soon.

higher interest rates will cause property values to stop increasing at such a rapid rate.

Bureau of Labor puts out a report each month, saying how many jerbs were created. "Experts" make estimates, and judging by how many are created, the market reacts. They claim 280k were created, up from 221k last month

This positive market report gives the Fed ammunition to raise rates sooner rather than later

Higher rates and a strong dollar have a rough impact on certain stocks, and also precious metals

Get out of REITS of you're invested too. Most aren't set up with enough equity/debt to keep paying such high dividends if rates go up.

No bueno

Dont understand any of it either, all of that shit just sounds like scams to me.

REITS are real estate investment trusts, which have been killing it for a few years now w/ the absurdly low interest rates. more like a bond investment, with a relatively stable pricepoint, but absurd dividend payouts (5-20%). Have been a great way for people to increase holdings through DRIPs (dividend reinvestments back into shares, rather than holding cash from them)

if rates go up, all that shit goes away essentially, not too mention prices/NAVs will drop on those holdings too. people are gonna get fucked

You mean he flopped a set. Yeah, that's just a cooler.
