my neighbor has a big screen in his backyard/patio with wicker furniture, etc.

meh, never thought it was necessary.

I grill outside, we can sit around the table and drink and bullshit but for viewing, I prefer indoors.

Never liked watching sports on TVs outdoors, but thats just a personal preference. Might be cool to have for watching movies at night, though. Like your very own drive-in. lol

not for sports though, for one thing I make too much noise while watching any game I actually

THis isn't the 70s, you must thinking of Fred Sanford with a 13" tube TV sitting on a broken down car in his backyard.

Actually it's a pretty big thing to make an outdoor man cave with a weather-proof TV in upscale burbs. Cheap ones run about $30k but I know of one that is well over $100k (it has a sunken lounge, bar, retractable above cover, fire pit, and massive stone BBQ).

A TV being put outside is good to make the guests breathe some fresh air during the summertime as they are simultaneously entertained. Provide them with some escapism to the tangible realm where they are inhabited from within.
