Apple says the technology to disable the security features doesnt exist, and to create it would mean it could be replicated for any device.

So basically they cant unlock that device without creating a way to unlock any apple device.
hope they don't do it. the government already spies on us too much.

it all started with the patriot act. bush put the ball down, obama kicked it through the uprights.
we're doomed.

google knows everything about us already

I dont believe you can violate everyones rights over potentially finding nothing though.

This is the big problem with the entire argument. "National Security" has become the federal governments dog whistle for "we can do what we want, when we want". And god forbid anyone argue with them. So good on Apple for having the balls to fight back, I hope they drag it out until the supreme court.

And if they lose there, intentionally brick the damned phone as a final "Fuck you."

real talk, the suspension of haebus corpus, illegal spying on communications, actual cases of extraordinary rendition (while rare), etc...

are all ridiculous violations of the Constitution. clearly they used the mass hysteria of terrorism to get those passed, but i'm not even sure how w/o amending the constitution. Surpised they haven't declared Martial Law at some pt yet

This Apple/FBI situation is interesting. No way they can force a company to compromise millions of peoples privacy.

Anyone remember the Clipper chip of the 90s. Ya, that idea sucked.

Real talk though, that terrorism thing is really enraging.

Killed a schoolmate of mine ffs.

hey puo, you see the forecast for tonight?
saying like an inch of rain around 9pm.
thunder/lightning/wind, the whole shebang.
Ya its nasty already. I like how a few days ago they said it was going to be mild showers.

Mild showers, torrential downpours. Splitting hairs really.

this rain is filling the water reserves in NoCal?
A lot of the resevoirs have made significant comebacks in a short period. Some of them are up as much as 50%.

The Sierras have been hammered with snow so hopefully after a couple more months of rain and the run off from melting will have it back at a good level.
