I play footgolf every Saturday.

Basically the whole is much bigger, and you kick a soccer ball into the hole, same concept as golf.

I get a bucket of beer and they put it in a cooler for you, I usually get one for the front 9 and then another for the back 9, it's a solid time.

I'm absolutely horrid at actual golf, waste of my time, I can drive the ball 300+, but I slice so bad that it's just not any fun.

Ever watch pros vs Joes? One of the Joes got to pick a sport against Morten Andersen (the hall of fame NFL kicker from Denmark) and this Einstein picked "soccer-Golf" where the objective was to kick a soccer ball as few times from the stadium parking lot into the stadium and into a net on the field. This "joe" had no soccer skills and he picked Morten Andersen as his opponent. SMH

My older brother plays Golf with Morten lol yea, I watched it.

My brother was on the nationwide and Hooters tour, he also went to Q school and was on the Golf Channel quite a few times. He tried to teach me how to play, never took.

At our local course, the course record is held by a kid that was one of the best soccer players in the county, soccer players are amazing at that shit.

one of my good friends got offers to play D-1 ball as a kicker, but chose to go the baseball route instead, he kicked a few 60 yarders in HIgh School, whenever we invite him out he beats the piss out of us.

Pro's vs Joe's was actually an awesome show, I wish it was still on.

One of the worst things about TOp Golf is that the back net is like 250 yards away, and if you hit the net, it has a hard time registering.

Last time I went I hit a few pretty nice drives that were probably 280-290, and they didn't even register as points.

I'm so bad that at the driving range I've hit the person next to me
I did that my first time playing for real. My friend was pretty much parallel with me and told me to go first. He was on the other side of the fairway. I went to hit the ball and it just went straight sideways and rocked him in the ribs. Lord was he pissed. Lol.

It's funny. My family had a membership at a country club my entire childhood, but we only ever used the pool and tennis courts. My parents never really liked golf. Then we put a dope ass pool in and stopped going except to eat once in a while. I wonder if they still pay dues there. The course I usually go to now kind of sucks. I'd bet that one was way nicer.

lmfao, I bet that shit HURT.

Yea, if it's at a country club, it's most likely going to be a top notch course.

I actually like Tennis a ton, I lost a bunch of weight in High School by dieting and playing tennis 3-4 times a week.

I played tennis a lot as a kid, but it conflicted with baseball, so I mostly played on my own time. Had a few friends who liked playing though, so we played a ton in the summers.

Baseball is the main reason I never played any other sports.

From the time I was 10-17, year round, no breaks, living out of hotels for the most part.

Good times, but if I could do it over, I'd have played football and basketball and only played baseball in the summer.

Fox hunting and country clubbing lol
I only did the real fox hunt once. That was an extended family tradition. But I loved riding, so I was fine with looking like a jackass until I didn't even see the fox and just felt like a jackass.

Wait -- your brother plays golf with Morten Andersen? How random is that?!?! Are we talking about conventional golf or soccer golf?

It was pretty funny -- especially the host (Petros Papadakis making fun of the Joe for choosing a "soccer" challenge against a "soccer style " kicker -- LOL.

I umpire these days. Kids play too much. Way too many tournaments these days (not that I mind all the extra games). I can only imagine how it is down in Florida where you can play year round.

I loved baseball, and I was decent at it, but I'm glad I played a bunch of sports growing up. At various points I played baseball, football, basketball, tennis, lacrosse (said fuck the school baseball team for a few years and just played travel), I wrestled before I got tall and switched to basketball in the winter in high school (plus switched to a school without a wrestling team, lol). Plus I played rugby in college and walked on to the basketball team (DIII, where I got no minutes until late in school). I guess if i had been a real standout at any of them, I'd have played fewer things, but I'm glad with how things went. Came in real handy when I used to work with kids.

Real golf, my brother lives in Innisbrook, he plays there and at Fox Hollow routinely, we're half brothers, his step dad is a former pro and golf coach.

My brother banked around 100k a year from about 09-15 just playing golf, he's on the West Florida Golf Tour now but only plays occasionally.

I also never refer to him irl as my half brother, I have 3 half brothers (one deceased), and one full blood brother, but always just refer to each other as just brothers unless parents get brought up, we all have the same father, different moms.

Yea, I had elbow surgery when I was 15, I still can't bend my left arm straight, it will forever be stuck in a 45 degree angle, I had my surgery done by Coco Eaton the Rays surgeon, and my little brother had TOmmy John at the age of 14, and that year off is what paved his path to pain killers and selling drugs.

Most kids I know these days have had Tommy John surgery, I've told a few people in the baseball thread this story, but my brother played AAU ball for 8-15 years old on Lance McCullers team, and his dad was assistant coach, his mom and dad put him on a pitch count from the time he was 8, would never allow him to go over a certain amount of pitches. They actually lost a huge tournament one time because the mom bitched out his dad because he reached his pitch count, so his dad pulled him and the relief pitcher blew the game.

Year round is just way too much, I'm sure umpiring sucks, kids are fucking assholes.

I don't think anyone here is going to bust your balls over that technicality.

I have some half brothers and sisters via my biological dad - he re-married twice - but I couldn't even tell you how many or what age.

lol, that's why I don't usually say half brother.

Because it's different depending on the family, some people have never even met their half brothers and sisters.

Me and my brothers have always been close, so no one usually knows they're my half brother unless I bring up their mom.

I'm about a 16 handicap now but I've been playing and practicing for like 20 years.
lol when I first started, I was so fucking terrible. driving range was an adventure. a round of golf took forever.

TBF - to be really good at anything, there isn't a lot of time to fuck around with other sports. I think you used to hear about guys who played football playing basketball as well, but it happens less and less. Only so many hours in the day.

Once I got serious about my sport, no more downhill skiing. Kind of an old rule of thumb. You spend years training and then you get injured fucking around on the slopes with your friends and lose an entire year to injury.
