Since Martin stopped helping (end of season 4) the show has gone downhill. Now that they're out of book material (for the most part) they're clearly struggling. Martin told the show runners the basic bullet points of where they have to get. They're clearly rushing it because they don't want to fill the story with more unanswerable questions or intrigues that won't be part of the book stories. At least they've corrected for this by going big on the spectacle and fan service. I'm fine with it. I knew from the start this was a danger, since he can only write a couple books per decade (if that). Zombie giants and dragons are good enough for me to finish it out.
