Todd Bridges just said Robin Williams was selfish. Whatcha talkin bout Willis? while I do think that suicide is not the best way to go.. No one can't walk in anyone's shoes.

that's a big thing nowadays is people calling suicide selfish. Yeah, it hurts a lot of people, but no one has any idea what that guys was going through on a daily basis.

i bet he thinks depression isnt that serious either, that todd bridges

Yeah I agree, it's a load of shit. It's selfish to want the person to stick around, just because you want them around. To think you know what's best for them

Depression isn't something to be messed with. It's a joke calling Robin selfish.

lmfao

As if ending your life, and ceasing to exist is a spur of the moment decision.

There are tons and tons of cases where it is. But it does sound like he had been depressed for a long time from what his family said in their statements.

It's really common for people, who have struggled for a long time, to seem happier than they've been in ages, a little bit before they do commit suicide. Basically because they've finally come to terms and have made peace with the decision, and their worries are lifted. Leads to everybody thinking "wait wtf why did they do it, he seemed so happy recently?!". It's a really interesting phenomenon

yup

thats why i try to be friends with everyone...even the weird kids

sometimes thats all people need

Even in cases where a person decides to end their life within days of an incident, they struggle with the decision.

They honestly feel there is no alternative.

Can't imagine what it feels like, to think death is the best solution.

He seemed so dependent on cocaine. Like when I think of him, I think "damn he did a fuckton of coke". Living the sober life couldn't have been easy when he had such issues. Without drugs to cover them up, he probably couldn't find peace

I dunno, I'm just speculating

Should have went the opposite way and become a cantankerous curmudgeon.

My moms aunt hates her life.

She just takes it out on everyone else.

That's what I would do if my life ever went downhill.

I work in mental health. Suicide and suicidal attempts happen in all sorts of ways. Part of why it's so important to get dangerous objects away from people struggling with suicidal ideation at all. Impulse attempts happen all the time, even without triggers, incidents or recent struggles. It's scary.

But absolutely, most people who attempt suicide struggle with suicidal thoughts as long as they can. It's so tough trying to help people turn it around when they feel resigned.

Wasn't he recently in rehab?

For alcohol, I guess

He used to say that he had been clean off Heroin and Cocaine since the early 80's. Yet ~15 years later he was still doing mournful interviews where he would nearly break down while talking about his addiction issues with said substances. I don't think he ever got over them

Us as fans should be happy he lived as long as he did considering the hard live he apparently had. Usually guys that live that hard don't last long

They should have a dolphin week.

1. They're hilarious
2. They fuck up sharks and sea mammals

Orson: The report, Mork.
Mork: This week I discovered a terrible disease called loneliness.
Orson: Do many people on Earth suffer from this disease?
Mork: Oh yes sir, and how they suffer. One man I know suffers so much he has to take a medication called bourbon, even that doesn't help very much because then he can hear paint dry.
Orson: Does bed rest help?
Mork: No because I've heard that sleeping alone is part of the problem. You see, Orson, loneliness is a disease of the spirit. People who have it think that no one cares about them.
Orson: Do you have any idea why?
Mork: Yes sir you can count on me. You see, when children are young, they're told not to talk to strangers. When they go to school, they're told not to talk to the person next to them. Finally when they're very old, they're told not to talk to themselves, who's left?
Orson: Are you saying Earthlings make each other lonely?
Mork: No sir I'm saying just the opposite. They make themeslves lonely, they're so busy looking out for number one that there's not enough room for two.
Orson: It's too bad everybody down there can't get together and find a cure.
Mork: Here's the paradox sir because if they did get together, they wouldn't need one. Isn't that zenlack?
