That's kind of why I post what I do. This is the music I listen to at work or at my house. This ISN'T what Im bumping in my car. For me, music is the greatest of all the arts. It can transport me to different times and places in history. It is also heavily correlated with the memories I have. It's a powerful form, and I just think people do themselves a disservice if they listen to only a few types of music. I understand that not everyone is going to have the same passion for music I do; I try to devour anything and everything I can. For all the shit that's posted in here, there's also a lot of good stuff if you're open to it. I know I have been introduced to a lot of stuff I would have never heard otherwise.
To answer your question, when I'm in my car I will listen to the radio, or CDs I have. I listen to a lot of power pop, indie bands, 70s funk and r&b, and guitar players I love (Joe Pass, Django Reinhardt, Christopher Parkening, Chet Atkins, etc)
i agree with your take on music as an art form. never bothered to actually study it in depth or get attuned with instruments like you tho. pretty stubborn when it comes to new stuff, if somebody suggests a song i literally have a 3 second window of patience before i go "nah, sucks", even though i hated screw when i first heard it
weird how you don't bump it in your car tho. there's certain songs that i jam in the car but won't listen to anywhere else, and vice-versa
