I think if a fighter is rocked badly or there is a submission attempt in place at the end of a round the action should continue until the fighter has recovered or been finished. Yes the Romero/Kennedy fight prompted this thread but I have thought about it before. What say you Sherdog?

JK, ts, I agree with you.

When I first read the OP I was like, I'm so excited. I'm so excited. I'm so...scared.

Kelly Kapowski could get it.

Kind of defeats the purpose of having timed rounds, don't you think?

So what if a guy has back control and is working for a choke, with the other fighter defending well, but he is certainly in a bad spot, do you just let the round go on forever?

This exact thread was made earlier and not too many people were into it.

What if the fight goes the distanse and just before the final bell fighter A (who, let's add it, has been losing the whole fight) rocks fighter B. After bell sounds, fighter B goes wobbly and fells down. He doesn't stand up then.

What should be done? Technically all rounds were scored and judges should make the decision.

This has been discussed before but basically you can't do that. What is "almost finished" or "submission attempted" or "recovered"?

If I have a guillotine locked in are you gonna let me just hold it for 45 seconds? If I have full mount and have "almost finished" a guy how many shots do I get after the bell before he is "recovered" or before you thikn I'm not going to finish him.

There is just know way to enforce the rule and it makes ZERO sense anyway. What next, in the NFL if I'm "almost" going to score I get to keep trying until 4th down is over even if the clock is expired?

If you’re not gonna be a part of a civil society, then just get in your car and drive on over to the East Side.
