Saudi Government buying WWE?

Contrary to reports stating otherwise last night, there is no deal in place at this precise moment for WWE to be sold to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund or any entity, sources say.

The organization is still exploring all options, I’m told. Developing.

if they do buy it...does that mean the womens division would dissolve? And would Stone Cold have to down soda pops instead of beer?

As frustrating as Vince is, I don't think there are that many people that can run a wrestling company. If it gets sold to someone without experience in the wrestling business I can't see it as being very watchable.

Greg Norman can do it.

Everytime I've tuned into WWE in the last 15 years its been utter dogshit. A hand full of entertaining people but no aggression.

Everyone's just 'dark and mysterious' or super hyped up. I never see any actual wrestling when I tune in. If they ARE wrestling it's usually just absolute basic nothing moves. All they talk about is the PPV upcoming.

A huge problem for me personally is it seems over produced. Almost like a movie. Everything has to be perfect.

And please. Please. Please stop doing that dumb shit where you change tv angles every time a move hits. It's absolutely retarded

I agree 10000%.

been wondering about this myself. There's always a lot of talk about the women when they do Crown Jewel, either bring left out, roles reduced, clothing changes to be more modest. What happens if those same people own the product?

as out of touch as Vince has become, this is a valid point. There are reasons he's been the most successful over a long, long time.

i think it should be sold to a North American company...or just not to Saudi, because in doing so, this would severely reduce the womens division. In which they made big strides the last decade.
If this happens then I'd imagine the women would go to Impact or AEW.

And i think whoever buys it, should keep the same management minus Vince. Steph (before she resigned) and Triple H were doing a good job in my opinion.

No chance in hell either would run the Saudis WWE.

Would Vince really sell the fucking company and not hand it off to his children? Or do they not want it?

Judging from the Saud's tastes in entertainment, they might start a femboy division.

He‘s a narcissist sociopath. He lives for the power he wields over people. He doesn’t care about anybody. Anybody at all.

Make that a psychopath, sociopaths are capable of feelings towards friends and family.

Number of owned games checks out.

EDIT : The plot thickens.

"Much of Yuki Yukeo’s fame stems from his high-level Dota 2 battle passes. The Stratz battle pass leaderboards list him as the top spender for The International 8, 9, and 10. He is estimated to have spent $108,304 across three years. "

EDIT 2 : It's confirmed.

Def agree that it shouldn't be the Saudis.

Aside from the women, Zayn isn't at Saudi shows because of his heritage and maybe some things he's said in the past. Read elsewhere that MVP was Muslim but turned atheist, which I guess is a crime in SA (renouncing Muslim faith, not not being Muslim). Other talents have refused to work those shows for other reasons. If those groups can't work together in single events how does anyone think ownership will work?

I have no personal stake in it but their ownership immediately turns it into a political nightmare on many fronts, and that's a bit much for "family friendly entertainment."

Well they just had Stephanie as the CEO for the past few months, and Vince wormed his way back in and made her resign.

Saudi PIF not bought $6.5bn WWE yet:
Despite reports to the contrary Saudi Arabia’s PIF has not yet bought the WWE
Thu 12 Jan 2023

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) continues to be linked with a bid for WWE, but no offer has yet been made.

Reports circulated on Tuesday that the takeover was a done deal and PIF had indeed bought the WWE.

Reports in Bodyslam.net and from DAZN’s Steven Meuhlhausen said that an agreement in principle had been reached and the deal was effectively done.

The deal has been agreed to in principle.
