Anybody have these? After reading the rolled pennies thread I thought it would be pretty cool to have them. And supposely they are legal?

Generally speaking they are illegal, but play to the protective aspect of them ( and if you have some legitimate reason to have them) and you may get away with it. there not awfully obvious on first glance, but they are fairly effective as far as something like this can be.

they were discussed fairly rescently in a thread here. I like my pair, but mostly becuse there warm, and a side effect of led shot is it retains the heat they get from living in my back pockets, and are toasty for ages when I put them on in the cold :D

Police sometimes carry them and they're referred to as "weighted driving gloves."

anybody know if they're legal in [insert state here] thread?

I live in Oregon. I'll try and find the rules on them.

Illegal now in California for the public to use. We used to use them but no longer carry them in the field due ot the high amount of injuries to suspects.

anybody carry them in Iraq? (where they're less concerned with the suspect ;-)

Technically I do not know, but I would not see why they would mind since the rules of war are different then the laws of California.

you guys think that they would make my hands faster for standup? Like shadowboxing with weights?

no, it won't make your hands faster. at all.

but it will make you punch harder when you hit wearing them.

Legal in Texas. Illegal in Cali. But they still hurt my knuckles when I tried them out.

they hurt less than a with a bare fist, or normal leather glove, but the only padding is ( usually) the lead shot, it will move slightly on impact and help your knucles somewhat, but in most designs, to keep them slimline, whatever padding is on 'your' side is on the impact side too, so you dont want much :)

I have a pair and have been pulled over and had my car searched by Police and they said they WERE legal. These gloves work great. I have laid out a few people with them. Seriously they are like holding a roll of pennies and they protect your knuckles. But be careful you can seriously injure someone with these things... I won't elaborate.

Edit: I live In California and they are legal here.
