Feel like Sandhagen is in a position to be a little choosy with fights so he must see something in the tape that leads him to believe he can win this fight. There are "easier" fighters ranked higher he could be gunning for.

Yeah, Said Nurmagomedov is very good but not top 10 and not related to Khabib. Umar is great, undefeated pro, Sambo world champ, Amateur MMA tournament champion, competed at Russian nationals for Muay Thai. He's the brother of Usman Nurmagomedov and cousin to Khabib, has been training under Abdulmanap since 14-15 and was wrestling from youth and competing in Muay Thai at around 11. He will probably be BW champ in the next 2 years if he can stay healthy.

Cory is peaking right now. He's become a really good wrestler and learned to use his size to dominate guys. He hasn't been very fun to watch lately but very impressive the way he's levelled up his grappling. If Umar can beat this version of Sandhagen he'll probably be champ.

Definitely incorrect. Rankings aren't everything, a win over Umar means WAY MORE than most guys ranked in the top 10. Cory also has been super verbal on why he's taking this fight, some real bushido shit.

I don't think so my friend. If there is one division that has a high level top 10 its BW. Umar is far too unproven in the UFC to say that a win over him means way more (lol) than most of the top 10. The only names that I would agree would be Cruz, Font and Munoz, which are the 8-10 guys. Beyond that, all the guys ranked 1-7 are a better win than Umar.
