Hi Sherdoggers. I know there are a lot of Bay Area people on here.
So here is my pitch: I'm looking sparring partners. Why? For fun, exercise, good times.
FAQ:
Q: Why don't I just join a boxing gym?
A: If you want to join a gym you absolutely should. Especially if you have aspirations in boxing. I'm not gonna prep you for amateur competition. This is just for fun/exercise.
Q: I'm kind of interested, but I have little/no experience. Can I still participate?
A: Yep! All experience levels are welcome. If you have 0 experience, I'll teach you to box FOR FREE, until you feel comfortable and ready.
Q: Sounds fun, but I don't wanna get hurt. How hard will the boxing be?
A: this is sparring, not a boxing match. It will be light touch, between 30%-60% power based on your experience and comfort.
Q: Who are you? And why don't you just train in a gym?
A: I'm 34. My gym days are done. Not because I'm too old, just too frugal. But I've done boxing for 6 years and martial arts for over a decade. Plenty of sparring experience. I did smoker competitions, but not sanctioned amateur competitions.
Q: Why would I want to learn from someone who hasn't competed at the amateur level?
A: Hey, it's free for a reason. Plus, I have plenty of experience to teach you the basic fundamentals for those that would like to learn. If you already know boxing, or other martial arts, I'm happy to learn from you as well.
Q: Why not just walk on a gym and ask to spar?
A: I get this Q a lot. In not sure what gyms people are talking about. It doesn't work like that here. Not at any gym I've trained at.
Anyway, hit me up if you're interested. MUST BE 18 PLUS.
I'm planning to start this summer, mid June, but I'd like to meet any potential sparring partners in person first for introductions.
