This fight was supposed to happen years ago in that season of TUF, there was some seemingly legit bad blood.

The fight never materialized for some reason I can't remember, but after all these years it still hasn't happened. Was hoping Samman would win the other night so that fight would be in position to happen. Now it will be still more time, if it ever happens.

I honestly would not be to interested. I remember not liking Samman on the show tho. I honestly just want to see Hall in big matchups. I know he underperforms a lot but something about him ill always watch. Still mad the Silva fight didnt happen.

Yeah, you never know if he's going to lose to some can, or KO Moose. Squirrelly fighter.

I doubt they have much, if any animosity towards each other anymore. Samman is also a changed man. They fight they needed to make was Randa Markos and Carla Esparza, they didn't like each other. Now I don't even think that would be big fight anymore, they missed their chances. Tood bad.

I'm for any fight that puts Hall into the TUF mindset and allows him to destroy opponents.

Didn't Samman duck Hall or something on the show? Then ended up getting beat by Kelvin or something? Been awhile I don't remember.

Both guys have had a lot of bum-like performances. Samman for some reason kept trying to grapple with Boetsch and Hall is like Disney's Frozen, he needs to let it go.

Markos v. Esparza would be a good match now. Markos gets a step up, Esparza needs a comeback.

Maybe if Samman could beat Boetsch. Makes no sense now.

Carla was actually talking shit in a "sub tweeting" manner before Randa's last fight, acting like she didn't know who Randa was. They'd both still be down for that fight & so would I.

WARANDA! ;)

I really thought Samman was going to squash Boetsch. It seemed like he was on his way up, and Boetsch on his way down.

+100 on that last point. Was really looking forward to that fight.

Came into this thread expecting heat for Hall-Samman, came out wishing for Markos-Esparza lol

Wouldn't mind Hall-Sammon btw, I just think it's almost do or die for Hall; the guy was SO hyped when he was going into his TUF finales, and since then... he's been hot and cold. I'd like to see him vs. a really, really good guy (like Anderson Silva) to see how he handles the pressure. Pressure seems to be his greatest enemy. Talented af tho

Agree.

I think that might have been the last season of TUF that I watched? and remember thinking Samman "weaseled" his way out of fighting Hall.

I think it's about perfect time to see the match-up, good call TS

Samman needs to get his head straight his game plan/ fight IQ in the Boetsch was awful, your gonna try to grapple with the stronger more experienced guy when you have the speed and reach advantage and a better striking arsenal?...like the fuck man

Yeah Samman was working the politics and playing up his leg injury so he would get favorable matchups on the show and delay facing Uriah. Underhanded as shit.

And he absolutely should have. The speed difference in the standup between Samman and Boetsch is crazy. Boetsch is also very poor defensively in addition to being slow which makes it almost impossible for him not to get hit and hit hard.

Samman also made the same tactical mistake against McCrory so I can only assume that the issue is this is just the way Samman fights and it's very hard for him to change now. He is not an out-fighter and despite having the speed and power advantage over most opponents he perhaps does not have enough confidence in his standup skill to be able to manage distance. Come to think of it I've never really seen a Samman fight where he made an effort to maintain distance with his opponent.

Samman throws some very quick and powerful punches and kicks but that does not mean he's a good standup fighter. Even so, initiating grappling exchanges with Boetsch is still just dumb. Even the most basic footwork should keep Boetsch away from you long enough to win the fight. If Samman would have just thrown straight 1s and 2s and moved his feet a little that alone may have been enough to take Boetsch out.

Worst. Fight IQ. Eva.

Same I did not like Josh on TUF or Bubba for that matter.

Man, I hated Samman on that season. I didnt watch for years, came back for Uncle Chael and was just flabbergasted by what a d-bag Samman was. Remember when he yelled out something to the effect of "Are you ready?!?!?!" when he had taken a dudes back then proceeded to drop some double punches down. Then he was just a weasel the whole season. Dude seems cool now, but needs a good win, or a Hall loss, to set up this fight.
