Sam Harris on Orlando: Trump = honest , Hillary & Obama = dishonest

Sam Harris nails it ; he is right that between Trump, Hillary and Obama, only Trump was honest about the shooter's motive (atleast part of the motive). The only tiny detraction is Harris thinking Omar Mateen used an AR-15 (he used a Sig MCX) but that doesn't detract from his arguments because in this instance either one (semi-auto rifle or semi-auto carbine) could have done similar damage. . The news media early-on kept saying it was an AR-15.

When Harris named Islam as the ideology behind the massacre, LGBT activists attacked Harris as a bigot.

Harris does not mince words, he calls out Liberals for their: dishonesty, lies, smears and betrayal of liberal ideals vis-a-vis islam.

Obama and Clinton want to remove the 2nd amendment, they are the ones who made Orlando a gun control issue, and now Obama is making Dallas a gun control issues. This isn't a conspiracy anymore, "We don't take your guns" while praising Australian gun bans is completely lying to the public.

I always look to politicians for moral clarity.
 
Islam is like a blessing to the western world. It will never yield, it won't bend, it will only grow and dominate others by imposing it's will (and strength by force/violence) onto others. Anytime Islam has lost territorial ground, and lost influence it was because the non-liberal approach was taken. Violence and force is what reclaimed Spain among many other lands which were conquered by Muslims and then freed from Islamic rule. Islam follows the way of the sword. In any case it is enjoyable to watch the west and liberalism destroy itself. What our future looks like is unclear but the weak approach won't win out and thus the world that the Huffington post morons think is reality won't be reality long term or for much longer.

Sam Harris is correct and I'd agree with his point. I know Hillary and Obama are dishonest about the motives and are completely ignorant for whatever reasons (I have my own beliefs for why they are, but that's another topic for why). In any case I can't get behind Trump because he is so terrible everywhere else. I care about economic policy and continuing the Obama progress. Trump fails horribly by my standards on these issues.

I also, trust that Hillary will take the fight to the enemy but not overkill or unprofessionally like Trump will do.

And before anyone mentions Islam in Turkey or 'moderate Muslim' states. Please realize that those countries forced Islam to their liking the Turks were notable for this. And in the former Soviet States, Islam is a lot weaker and many Muslims don't know much about the religion, they are similar to the many Americans who call themselves Christian but don't know jack. Many/most aren't devout.

Islam was also heavily repressed in the USSR.

Yeah I doubt she actually believes that. Oh well. I don't see how promoting white guilt makes the situation any better. If anything we need more police oversight.

what has he actually contrb. to public discourse, or academia for that matter, during the past ten years? i find his writing to be pretty lame, and when he goes on these shows . . . nothing funny or interesting about him. i liked him against ben affleck though, quoting surveys and stuff. he needs help in order to be interesting.

I agree he hasn't added much to the intellectual world, but his criticisms of Islam are very much needed.

i find even his critique of islam to be lacking depth -- he is moribund and trying to appeal to a certain group of people; he is a provoker, and an unfunny one at that.

Harris is saying the Emperor has no clothes, and we sorely need people to say this because the mainstream media narrative is false and it is the MSM narrative that the general public hears. The gov. and the intelligensia lying to the public is a big fcuking deal , one that needs to be opposed.

Shut the fuck up dude. No President can overturn the 2nd amendment. In fact, I will bet that it will not get overturned for 100 years. Do you want to bet against that? That it will be illegal to own a handgun within 100 years?

In an interview with comedian Marc Maron that aired Monday, President Obama cited Australia's gun laws as an example the United States should follow.

Australia had buyback programs in 1996 and 2003. Both programs were compulsory, and involved compensation paid to owners of firearms made illegal by gun law changes and surrendered to the government. Bought back firearms were destroyed.

The 1996 "National Firearms Buyback Program" took 660,959 firearms out of private hands. comprising long guns, mostly semi-automatic rimfire rifles and shotguns as well as pump-action shotguns, and a smaller proportion of higher powered or military type semi-automatic rifles.

In 2003 new handgun laws made illegal target pistols of greater than .38 calibre and handguns with barrels less than 120mm (semi-automatic) or 100mm (revolvers) such as pocket pistols.

I agree that is real shitty she says that, the pandering should be a minimum especially in drastic to be fair Trump is overboard towards Muslims in the same way.

Well the guys been pretty consistent in his views, and is willing to call out twats who slander in the name of partisanship.

How is that comical? I think it's a remarkable break of honesty in today's world.
