I am not a fan of “quick fixes” when it comes to pain related issues. Not because I think a quick fix is a bad thing, I just usually doubt they actually do anything.
I’ll get terrible migraines (only for the 1st day or 2) when I start a low carb diet. I’ll get intense headaches that start like a pressure on the top front of my head (both sides) and then will usually descend to one side or the other. I get nausea with them (sometimes I’ll have to throw up, others times I don’t). And they’re usually accompanied with a negative outlook on everything.
So a couple of days ago I felt one coming on. I didn’t want to get nauseous so I thought I would finally try the salt water trick. First, it tasted horrible. I’ve had baking soda with water before…. But this was much worse than that. But 15-20 minutes into it the build up to the intense migraine pain was just gone. My migraine didn’t even come.
Has anyone tried this before for a migraine? If not, you might get some benefit from it. For as bad as they get I’m still alittle skeptical that a glass of water with a tea spoon of salt could actually mitigate it to the degree that I didn’t feel any pains from it.
