People forget Sakuraba made a name beating undersized gracies. He had some epic wins but still, beating mini gracies is not that great. Especially losing to old Royce.

That decision is highly contested man, on top of that Royce tested positive for steroids after. And that's after taking beatings from Igor, wanderlei x 3, cro cop, little nog and arona. He was far from his prime. You can hardly hold that fight against him.

Its too bad we didnt get Saku vs Rickson.

This is such a hard question, it depends on the rules , if it’s unlimited time you would basically have to kill or completely incapacitate Rickson to win , and I could see him being very patient until he got a scenario on the ground he liked and getting a submission, it took Sakuraba 1.5 hours to defeat Royce and by all accounts Royce can’t hold a candle to Rickson
But in a 15 or 20 minute fight Sakuraba is so extremely smart and I think he would take a decision
