Economy Saint Louis historic site closes due to severe flooding

Shocking,

Didn't see the flood coming this time either...
 
My sister and her family live in St Louis. Heard they haven't been flooded badly where they live thankfully.

When I saw the rainfall amounts in St. Louis my initial reaction has been to think that is a type of rainfall seen in Florida once a month or so in the rainy reason. The ground is different here I suppose, being more sandy, as it doesn't tend to flood badly after that type of rain.

We got ~12" in about 8 hours.

That’s rough. We’ve had some land slides for all the rain as of late. Northern Japan is taking it hard
