I was listening to an interview by Sam Harris with a prominent social psychologist and professor at NYU Jonathan Haidt. At one point they discussed the new phenomenon of extreme political correctness, safe spaces, microaggressions, and triggers. I found a few points particularly interesting.
1. One of the reasons Haidt brings up as a possibility for this phenomenon is a changing parenting style. At some point (he says around 1975, although I think it might be a bit later) parenting changed. Kids used to be less supervised by their parents. They wandered on their bikes, got lost, got scared, got in fights, etc. There were no cell phones to beckon them back home, and as a result they had to negotiate these challenges on their own. However after a few particularly high profile disappearances (most notably, Etan Patz) parents began supervising their children a lot more.
Parents kept their children more at heel, and video games came along which kept children inside closer to their parents. Eventually, over parenting led to children who became college students unable to negotiate an unsafe real world.
2. Haidt argues that political correctness is not new (think late 1960's) but what IS new is this idea that being exposed to opposing (at times, offensive) viewpoints is somehow traumatizing, triggering, or causes injurious suffering. This is a relatively new phenomenon that he sees as pathological.
3. He discusses how many professors comb over their syllabi and examine their materials due to the fear that they will be reported for being offensive. He tells a story in which he was reported by a student for showing a video in which a person said "I would think if I saw two men having sex I'd find it disgusting, but I don't think it's morally wrong." He was reported to the dean and became the victim of a social media campaign for being "homophobic." He said that most frequently, students report other students to a "board" if they've suffered some sort of trauma from something someone said. I find this particularly disturbing and think it approaches fascism.
So what say you war room, agree of disagree? The title of the podcast is Waking up with Sam Harris, and the episode is "evolving minds." Very good evaluation by a centrist, reasonable professor of the problems of political correctness.

So, coddling people from the cradle through school through college through rest of life like we are doing is going to lead to hyper sensitive people (HSP). In psychology, HSP has been linked to violence in retaliation for perceived slights.
Liberals are trying to sell you Utopia---- that being a place where no one is hurt or offended. Anyone trying to sell you utopia on this planet without divine intervention is dangerous and most likely a totalitarian. This makes sense as for there to be no one getting hurt we must all be the same--no free will, not really Utopia if you ask me.
Now, starting off as kids we have made safe playgrounds and stopped games like dodgeball. Some kids play sports where everyone gets a gold medal and we don't care about winning.
The thought being that no one's feelings will get hurt. Everyone loses sooner or later, it is best to get practice at this when all it is is a game which is pretty safe. Even getting hit in the face in dodgeball is not going to do damage and you have to be able to be strong enough to take getting hit.
Now, in college we have trigger warnings and safe spaces and etc. These are again not letting these people deal with being offended and getting over it. They are not getting practice in losing and it is hurting discourse.
But the real issue is that it is shutting down views you do not agree with. Why do you think it is the liberals trying to shout down presidential candidates???
And even outside of school we do not hold people for their bad choices as this may insult them. We blame systematic discrimination. It is some system or some other group holding them down, not their own shit values and life decisions.
So you brew a generation who have not had to lose or face being hurt and they become hypersensitive and see anyone doing something they disagree with as being a mirco-aggression, which will lead to a retaliation with a macro-aggression (physical violence). This was seen by a teacher at a school ben shapiro spoke at when the teacher offered to wrestle anyone who went to see ben speak.
Now, here is what psychology says about hypersensitive people. Now look at this and look at all the SJWs and liberals clamoring for people to be fired like mozilla guy was for not supporting gay marriage or BLM shouting down anyone they don't like from speaking.
These people are the new nazis.
This is about radical islam below but you can apply it to the other SJW victimhood narratives
The Microaggression Mentality. Evil people are also motivated, in large part, by a wildly overdeveloped sense of victimhood. “Hypersensitive people who often think their pride is being assaulted are potentially dangerous,” says Baumeister. “Even when a neutral observer would conclude that no serious provocation occurred, it is still important to recognize that, in the perpetrator’s own view, he or she was merely responding to an attack.” In other words, crafting a world in which perpetrators seek offense from every comment – telling Muslims all over the world that every attack on radical Islam represents an attack on Islam generally, or throwing around the word Islamophobe to describe risk-averse foreign policy drives evil behavior rather than quashing it.
All of this is well-documented in social science. But the left must ignore it, because all of it cuts against their strategy: making nice with radical Muslims, pretending their ideology doesn’t exist, and boosting their self-esteem without reference to achievement.

Below is about paranoid personality disorder, but see how it is linked to feeling offended by things that are not offensive and having thin skin and becoming violent
Kretschmer emphasized the sensitive inner core of the paranoia-prone personality: they feel shy and inadequate but at the same time they have an attitude of entitlement. They attribute their failures to the machinations of others but secretly to their own inadequacy. They experience constant tension between feelings of self-importance and experiencing the environment as unappreciative and humiliating.[13]
Jaspers, a German phenomenologist, described "self-insecure" personalities who resemble the paranoid personality. According to Jaspers, such individuals experience inner humiliation, brought about by outside experiences and their interpretations of them. They have an urge to get external confirmation to their self-deprecation and that makes them see insults in the behavior of other people. They suffer from every slight because they seek the real reason for them in themselves. This kind of insecurity leads to overcompensation: compulsive formality, strict social observances and exaggerated displays of assurance.

Look about this on revenge then think about the left's insistence that everything bad that happens to minorities is all just systematic racism (and not about bad personal decisions and values). They have been wronged by racist white system and thirst for revenge
Revenge originates from the primal need for self-defense. In today's world, it is often abused as a destructive and futile response to anger or humiliation. Exhaust all alternatives before considering revenge, and use revenge only if it is your only effective self-defense. Why do you believe it is your only alternative? Why do you believe it will be effective? Describe why you believe revenge addresses the cause and will have the effect you want.
Most strategies for revenge fail because they attempt to change the past. Unfortunately once the damage is done and the injury, insult, humiliation, or other loss occurs, the clock cannot be turned back and the loss is permanent. In addition, the value of the loss to the offended is seen as much greater than any benefit gained by the offender. As a result the offense represents an unrecoverable loss to society as a whole. Successful strategies for revenge look far into the future and recognize that the cycle of vengeance and retaliation can only spiral toward tragedy and are best stopped before they are started.

here is about HSP becoming violent whenever they feel their pride is hurt
CONCLUSION
The left/liberal agenda is creating a generation of people who cannot handle being hurt of offended and develope a dangerous level of unearned pride couple with an intolerance to anything they disagree with. They will lash out violently at anything they feel offends them.
Micro-aggressions lead to marco-agressions.
People can disagree with you and not be aggressive. People can hold you accountable for your life without being aggressive.
So you can disagree with me or not, but just keep an eye out there in the world and you will see my thread for what it is: A warning to stop this shit before the next wave of fascists comes by and persecutes all their enemies.
