Yeah, you posted Volkmann

They look like twins

Not really a different mentality from people who constantly shoot doubles. He was attacking, Gray could either engage on top or could punish his legs from outside the guard, but decided to do neither, stall, and complain. And he's developing his striking, so

This thread topic is turning into 'Where is TJ Grant/Arona'. And to answer your question, again, Kron.

The absolute worst thing you can be is a fighter who is unknown to the public but terrifyingly good at one thing to the point where no fighter wants to fight you and risk losing to a perceived nobody.

I feel bad for Ryan Hall. I want to see him win but he's in maybe the worst position possible.

No doubt. You're a certified badass. You've been spending years honing your tattoo, indoor tan and waxing game. You don't want to fight a normal looking dude who's going to look half asleep while he's ragdolling your bad ass.

I get what you're saying but it struggle to see him as an unknown or perceived nobody.

Not sure we can call him known or perceived nobody.

He's been on the jiujitsu circuit for over a decade doing the triangle roll thingy with Mike Fowler in the Lloyd Irvin cult in 2007-8, placed 3rd in ADCC in 2009 and was the 2015 TUF winner...Plus he's got a viral video of him nullifying some idiot at a restaurant.

He's just not a loud self promoter. Sure his style is not appealing to the main stream, but neither was GSP's or Khabib's.

Nobody knows him. He might be known to people who follow ADCC or know a lot about grappling but even guys who watch every UFC PPV probably wouldn't know who he was if you asked them straight up.

Yeah he was exciting in 1 fight. What about the rest of his career? Did you erase all those fights out of your memory too? Lmao

Jose Aldo or Frankie Edgar have almost no incentive to fight this guy. So much disrespect from him for calling them ducks.

Sorry, lemme try again.

he refuses to fight anybody lower.
Wrong.

But if we're gonna talk about his career, you really wanna reflect on those? He only had 4 in the UFC so far. Elkins was a good one. The Penn one before it only lasted half a round and had an incredible finish worthy of performance of the night, so that's already the latter half of his UFC career right there being exciting. His match against Gray stunk, but Gray is as much to blame for that as anyone, even moreso. The Lobov fight went to decision and wasn't viscerally thrilling, but Ryan dominated 30-26. Maybe you're talking about about the Ultimate Fighter season, where he won 2 fights by first round heel hook? Or his 4 previous wins that were all finishes. Are you sure he's not had more exciting fights than bad ones and you just only really remember how bad the Maynard one was that you think it overshadows everything else? Seems more like:

Yeah he was he was boring in 1 fight. What about the rest of his career? Did you erase all those fights out of your memory too? Lmao

Yeah, the Gray fight was boring. But please, let me know of his "history."

gotta say I was impressed with his fight vs Darren Elkins.

Elkins is a TOUGH fight for anyone. really he is.
Ryan Hall is perhaps a bit too low-key for his own good but...that's him.

I don't think he's wanting to fight a lot. He's fought 4 times in 5 years. I know he's a guy that's avoided but I highly doubt it's just because he can't find anybody. It's either that, or him being too picky.

Everything I've read seems to indicate that his possible opponents are the one doing the ducking.

heard the same argument about khabib for years. mma fans know who he is, that's enough.

Agreed! To be honest, I really disliked him in TUF. He was annoying and got lucky to make it to the finals. Still, he is a very different fighter than most and deserves top 15 fights. Its embarrasing UFC doesnt help him to get a decent fight.

Is that not Jacob Volkmann in the OP?
lol, i was wondering if anyone else would notice... lmao, i applaud TS

Also, Im not sure how ppl consider him boring. his personality is boring, but he brings the action in the cage. Its interesting how word of mouth can alter ppl's opinions. much like rogan claiming someone is winning and half of sherdog goes along with it. Aldo/Moraes Aldo gets punched clean in the face 3 times, Rogan "yea, but look at the way he walks forward and absorbs those punches" LMAO wtf...!?

Anyway, I think Hall is pretty exciting. so were throwin spinnin shit now? i think its a "good" excuse for top ranked fighters to not want to fight him by claiming hes boring.. lol, cop out imo
