This is happening tonight, yes? Anyone watching? Predictions?

My heart says Ryan, but my heart's an idiot. Gray by decision.

I bet on him losing. Gray is a shell of his former fighting self but I think this matchup really favors him. It pretty much comes down to him defending the takedown/leglock. Ryan Hall has yet to win a decision.

Tough, tough matchup for Ryan. Really hope he can pull it off , but I was worried by how ineffective he looked against Saul on TUF. In a recent interview he was talking about how the wrestling against the cage in MMA still has so much room for improvement and nobody is really doing it properly, so maybe he has a few new tricks up his sleeve.
If he can find a way to get the fight to the floor with him on top he's got a great chance

Hall by submission. I love Gray, but he looked worse than Conor at 145.

in all fairness to maynard, the guys he's lost to are all tough.

however, his performance against fernando bruno was arguably the worst of his career.

hall by UD. his striking looked great. nobody wants to be on the ground for 5 seconds with him lulz

He's gotta work on shooting then entering the legs off the shot ala palhares.

There's more than one way to get to the legs than imanari rolls.

Hall might be able to pitter pat outstrike on his feet. If so he

Lolz just checked and realized the fight is already over.

I agree. I'd also like to see him integrate some Marcin Held type entries into his game.

He made good points in his post fight comments, but the UFC isn't going to keep a guy around he wins decisions based on hook kicks and failed Imanari rolls.

He got it to the ground, but he needs to hold Gray there. I think he's going to have to stop trying to leg entangle all the time, and put a little more energy into simply holding down his opponent.

Or just stepping in with the body lock when guys chase him. I also wonder if sweeping off those leg entanglements would be a better option as guys get more familiar with defending leg locks by turning and pulling away.

that wasnt nice, he won, but hes not getting a call for a next stellar fight anytime soon.

Yeah he has a few diff ways to do it but he seems to be single minded in his approach.

He should be trying to sweep as a first option IMO; as a BJJ guy he has a bigger edge playing from top, and won't have to worry about guys running away. In fairness to Ryan though, Maynard has been on a long string of boring, inactive fights since his loss to Diaz. Not sure if it's psychological, or just that opponents have figured him out, but he's been in some brutal slogs in recent years (the guida fight, the Bruno fight come to mind immediately).

Lmfao, I laughed during most of the fight, it just looked so awkward and frustrating for Maynard. Ryans style is so annoying, you stand at kicking range and get spammed with his long octopus legs throwing high, oblique and hook kicks, and the second you try to close the distance he just flat out refuses to box and dives down for your legs.

I understand that the crowd hated it, but I thought it was a fun fight, mainly because Maynard looked insanely salty.

Ryan hall landed 66 kicks. Maynard landed 12 punches.

Sort of tells the story of the fight.
