Ryan Hall Under PRIDE Rules

He has SO much experience in bjj and mma (much more than hall in both aspects) Of course he's going to do better and be more fun to watch than 5-1 (now 6-1 ) hall.

Even when Maia started mma his fights were more exciting and against better competition than Hall. Inexperience has nothing to do with it, it's their respective grappling styles. Maia, weather it be sport BJJ or mma BJJ has always brought it and is capable in any position. Hall is severely lacking in his capabilities to bring the fight where he wants it, this is why he lacks success compared to others like Maia/Palhares for example.

These idiots stating that what Hall did with Maynard is amazing/great/funny, are dunces as far as I'm concerned. A flopper fucking sucks no matter what you think.

Maynard made it boring, not Hall

Stupid matchmaking again. Maynard should be fighting someone like Diego Sanchez

Not sure what you guys are crying about. Gray ran from hall the entire fight on the ground and got kicked 7000 times on the feet. This is mna...not boxing.

He'd probably have an easier time getting some jackass stomping his leg down at him wrapped up and to the ground.

But I guess if you don't think about it it sort of makes sense.

It also doesn't seem like Gray would even do that if it was an option.

Surprised they even gave Hall the nod. Not engaging and flopping to his back repeatedly deserves warnings and point deductions. If not, lose via scorecards anyway.

This fight resembled Overeem/Werdum 2, where Werdum landed meaningless shots on the feet and flopped when Overeem engaged. The difference is Overeem went into his guard and basically stalled, got points that way, while Gray just stood up, took some weak kicks, engaged, and watched Ryan flop again. Turrible.

I actually love his style, but I'm curious to see how he adapts under Pride rules. He might just catch a leg and ankle lock it.

TS doesn't understand what happened, obviously.

He'd have a legit gripe if Hall didn't absolutely DOMINATE the stand up.

Hall would of been red-carded for stalling, then banned for life. Gray would've been cut also.

Hall's gameplan was the same one Inoki used on Ali, 40 years ago...

TS: glad that you enjoy the templated, run of the mill just bleed style that we witness in 99% of fights. I do to, but what is the fk'n problem with guys evolving and bringing a fresh look? Jesus... some of those foward rolls to leglocks and snap-guard pulls were badass. Is it that hard to see some fans may appreciate some creativity?

Some might say hall stuck to a few different moves but I found that strategy pretty masterful.

Hall knows that gray has some lead in those hands, so why not try to keep gray on the outside with kicks and throw in a leg lock attempt every so often? Keep him guessing.

Gray obviously was frustrated that his offense was nullified. I give credit to hall for that game plan.
