Taken from the VK of a russian guy by the name of Victor Imantovich Alxnis:

"
Official message of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation:
"On August 9, at about 15.20, on the territory of the Saki airfield near the Novofedorovka settlement, several aviation ammunition detonated on a bunded storage site.
No one was injured in the explosion. Aviation equipment at the airport was not damaged.
Measures are being taken to extinguish the fire and find out the causes of the explosion.
According to the report from the site, there was no fire impact on the bunded ammunition storage area at the airfield."

On Aug. 11, US aerospace company Maxar Technologies released satellite imagery that shows the extent of the destruction at Russia's Saki air base at Novofedorovka in Crimea, caused by a series of explosions on Aug. 9.

On August 11, the American company Planet Labs published two satellite images of the Saki airfield. One was taken on August 9, a few hours before the explosions, and the second on August 10 after the explosions at the airbase.

According to experts, based on the results of the analysis of satellite images, it was established that up to 9 Su-30 fighters and Su-24M bombers were destroyed as a result of explosions at the air base.

I don’t understand why the RF Ministry of Defense misinformed the public, realizing that it is impossible to hide the real consequences of the explosions?

I knew about one real aviation specialist with colonel's or general's rank...
He sucked Kremlin's dick.
And had been killed as reward to be rusophile and traitor....
His surname was Alksnis and Beria had dealt with this dumb traitor bum in one minute...

J. Alksnis was top 2-3 person in USSR air defense forces. Until Beria and Yezhov found him to be suspicious.1938.
Nothing wrong.. 1940 th and Beria's and comrade's Stalin's best personal friend Yezhov appeared as * internal enemy and was exectuted despite was one from most effective genocide supporters Stalin ever had..

They probably are able to deceive a lot of the Russian public. It's a poor-ass country, especially the regions where most of their cannon fodder comes from.

Mama back home in kalmyk-land maybe has a TV, maybe just a radio. Almost certainly no internet, and even if she did, she only speaks Russian so is limited to the Rusky-net. If she does go on the net, she probably only looks at big brand websites, and thinks anyone saying anything bad on VK is probably just an employee of the American troll-factories.

Lol Russians are 80 % idiots and caveman ?

There really needs to be a post limit for certain posters......

Who is winning?

Kremlin about to be painted in yellow and blue LOL

No, but seriously, it has turned into a classic land grab war and Ukraine still holds 80% of the territory and Russia 20%. Territorially it's a success story so far for the defending force in a 4 to 1 ratio. The personnel and equipment damage is also likely higher on the russian side too. Economically and infrastructurally of course Ukraine takes the L in that aspect.

All in all, in the past two months the situation could be described by one sentence "Russia takes two villages in Donbas per day and loses one in the south". Generally no tactical or any other changes of significant importance for either side.

In the past week, the situation has worsened a bit for the russian side. The gap in the arthillery and aviation advantage they have is becoming narrower. And they lack the men power not only to launch new big offensives, but soon there will be struggles to keep the already made gains.

The general feeling is the sooner Putin announces the SMO is over and that we are pulling back, the less humiliating the defeat will be. Every second passing, reduces the chances of his regime surviving the post-defeat rebellion inside Russia.

  • India said on Friday there was no pressure on it from western countries or anywhere else over its energy purchases from Russia, as Indian firms step up imports of oil and coal from the country shunned by some governments for its invasion of Ukraine. India, the world’s third-biggest crude importer, overtook China to become the biggest buyer of Russian oil in July based on sea-borne volumes, having bought very little from the country before the start of the war in Ukraine in February.

Good to see India scoring some bargains

Where are you from, for the thirtieth time?

What the. They took Lysychansk over a month ago.

Hadn't been paying much attention as of late. I recall Severodonetsk being spoken about like the war hinged on it. They lost that and it's sister city extremely quickly after it fell. I was unaware of that. Thought they'd been stalled since the capture of Severodonetsk.

I guess this is why the east is no longer spoken about really in terms of territorial gains and the focus has been all on the almighty Ukrainian counter attack for the past month.....

Sneaky lol

The Ukrainians lack the capability to counter attack, as they've been trying to get one together in the south for months now. Russia either lacks the ability or the will to commit enough forces to advance at anything faster than a snails pace. Russian forces are outnumbered but have more air and artillery, and so pound away much more often than they get bombarded themselves.

As far as I can tell reading between the lines of both sides' media, there have been heavy losses. Just based on statements and actions of the Ukrainian government and military reps, the Ukrainians seem to have had the worse of it, as they've extended their draft four times and have talked about casualties of frontline units being something like a battalion a day for months on end. Plus, they have little answer for Russian stand off missiles which seem to strike with imputiny.

Overall it seems like Russia is going to have to really commit politically with a mobilization or the Ukrainians will eventually get enough gear from the US to turn it around.

Nothing seems to be going on for both sides after Lysychansk fell. The Russians are seemingly bogged down in the east and the Kherson counter offensive is going nowhere.
