However if to be fair with Israel, they earlier had sold ATGMs to Baltic countries while some " nice " friends then hestitated to sell...
There was some period when western europeans in cubicles worried " better not to make Russia nervous, nothing wrong even if they are NATO countries ".
France is especially notable as ....absolutely useless.
 
Story with Blue Spear is old.
In 2020 th Estonia already had agreeed to pay for this.
Then no one had assumed that there will be stuff with Ukraine.
Israel cooperates pretty well with Baltic countries.
Jerusalem of North for Jews was Vilnius, baltic countries despite cold character were pretty comfortable for jews 1933-1939...

They absolutely wanted to take Kyiv. Calling it a feint is laughable. You don't stage all those troops and supplies to feint. This wasn't anything like the allies confusing the germans on which points they were going to hit the beaches. The russians were 100% trying to take Kyiv and failed to do so for a number of reasons. One of the biggest being the failure to take the airport. They cancelled their airlift operations after it was clear the Ukrainians had too many man-pads surrounding and in route to the airport.

Yet they send some of their most elite troops and aircraft to get butchered at Hostomel.

Putin most likely believed Zelensky would pull a Ghani and flee leaving the chain of command in disarray.
 
The worst stuff is that political party called United Russia are crazy....not only Putin. Putin here is just piece of cake.
Politicians from this party openly had told that empire from Lisbon till Vladivostok will be created as long term target.
Finland, Sweden and Germany ( yeah ) deNazified etc a lot of things for russians in russia.
Promised to eliminate Moldova from earth etc.

Putin sadly is not worst guy in this party, maybe even one from most realible...and realistic.

Good news: kleptocrats not likely will follow order to use nukes...

No of course it hasn't been to plan. Ukraine has been far more willing to engage than they expected. Causing faaar more havoc than Russia would have expected
 
Never had been intended to loss Pantsirj and Tor SAM launchers, Sу fighters and Smerch MRLS launcher, just cos this was according to gameplan.
Including Ka-52 , Mi-24 and Mi-28 helicopters.....
Really excellent and CHEAP fake stuff...

I don't agree with him at all but @tibba has been making the case since the beginning that Kyiv was not a target.

I have disagreed all the way through, but Tibba has always said that so it's not like he is misreading the current situation or anything, he based it on the official Russian objectives rather than the ones you and I believe are the true objectives.

So I don't think that stance is laughable to be honest.

You do realize they took the airport and withdrew right?

Eyewitnesses recorded videos of allegedly a Russian tank column burning in the distance and Ukrainian Mi-24s firing rockets at Russian positions.[5] Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov claimed that Ukrainian forces deployed BM-21 Grad in Kyiv to bombard Russian forces occupying the airport.[36] Olevsky stated that he believes casualties for both Russian and Ukrainian may number in the hundreds.[37]

On 26 February 2022, Ukrainian forces claimed that the Ukrainian Alpha Group unit destroyed a column of Russian armored vehicles near Hostomel.[38][39] Sophia Fedyna [uk; ru], a member of the Verkhovna Rada, alleged that Russian spetsnaz captured some members of the Ukrainian National Guard and were wearing their uniforms. She asked Ukrainian citizens and fighters to speak only in Ukrainian to help identify Russian saboteurs.[40][41][42]

As of 27 February 2022, the airport remained under Russian control as clashes began to shift to the towns of Bucha and Irpin to the south,[43] where Ukrainian forces claimed to have halted the Russian advances, contesting Russian forces in Hostomel amid intense fighting.[44][45][46][47] On 27 February, the Security Service of Ukraine released an alleged intercepted conversation of Russian forces in Hostomel reporting casualties and requesting to be evacuated.[48][49] On the same day, Ukrainian forces bombarded the airport with artillery, and claimed to have destroyed a number of Russian equipment, vehicles, and personnel.[50][51][52] The next day, a Russian military convoy stretching 40 miles (64 km) arrived at the airport in preparation for an assault on Kyiv.[53][54]

As of 28 March 2022, satellite imagery showed no Russian forces inside the airport.[55] On 29 March, Russian Deputy Minister of Defense Alexander Fomin announced a withdrawal of Russian forces from the Kyiv area,[56] including the abandonment of Hostomel Airport.[57]

By 2 April, Ukrainian forces had regained control of the airport following a large-scale Russian withdrawal along the Kyiv axis.[58] In their hasty retreat, Russian troops destroyed much of their own equipment, while other materiel was captured intact by the Ukrainians. In addition, other Russian equipment had been destroyed by Ukrainian artillery strikes before the withdrawal. Overall, Russia lost at least 7 armoured fighting vehicles, 23 infantry fighting vehicles, 3 armoured personnel carriers, 1 anti-aircraft gun, 2 field artillery pieces, 3 helicopters, as well as 67 trucks, vehicles and jeeps at Antonov Airport.[15]

They literally announced they were withdrawing from the airport.... days before it was back in Ukrainian hands........

To add to that..

The airport was then captured by the Russian forces. Despite this, the unexpected Ukrainian resistance foiled the plans of a quick capitulation of Kyiv, and the airport was too damaged to be used as a functional airstrip

The airport you're all talking about that they sent their elite troops into to get butchered... they took.... for a long time... and withdrew... it took Ukraine days to even move troops back into it even without a Russian presence...By then the strip was ruined.

I suggest reviewing a lot of the things considered fact early in this war. The media and propaganda is absolutely outstanding.

It's not like a invading country would ever send its elites to target airfields behind enemy lines.... ( jokes obviously ). Our sas were good @ it in Iraq.
