Russia/Ukraine Megathread V6

Not really. The Russian Rubble is now stronger than before the war started:
https://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=RUB&to=USD

I know, was being a bit sarcastic. Have commented since the start that these sanctions will backfire and they seem to be. Ruble at a high and US has baby forumla shortage and now a diesel crisis. That is the 4D diplomacy of the Washington DC uniparty where 40 billion will now be going to liberal NGOs to help relocate these people with the best LGBTQBIPOCx10^2 interests at hand, and the war mongers and energy industry lobbies that donate to the GOP

hopefully a mod doesn’t delete this post as similar posts of mine have been deleted from this thread.

edit: and that 40 billion was just now. We already rushed through over 50 billion now. What if 5 months from now this isn’t resolved? We gonna give another 50 billion?

When people can actually profit from the amazing performance of the Ruble, we'll all agree it's been quite remarkable I'm sure haha! Neither of us will be holding our breath on that score...

Exactly,

"The Ruble is strong 66 Rubles are 1 USD"
"Ok i have 66 Rubles, give me 1 USD"
"Im sorry comrade, you can only buy Rubles at that price, you can't sell Rubles, thats illegal now"

A price is not really a price if people aren't buying and selling that currency.

Change all your money into rubles, if you're so confident.

Show us some evidence, though, I'd enjoy the experiment and would honestly wish you the best of luck!

thats about as likely as evidence of a stolen election turning up...

I have to say, it's easy to sound super confident on the internet - you KNOW the truth, you've GOT the answer, and the Ruble is cruising.

But those posters wouldn't dare back their words up with actual evidence of their confidence lol

Just empty words - they know the Ruble's 'success' is false AF, otherwise they'd have nothing to lose, right?

Ruble at a high and US has baby forumla shortage

There was this story about a guy that walks into a store, he wants to buy a pair of shoes and asks for the price

"That would be $200 for the shoes" says the owner

"$200 what a ripoff, that same pair is only $100 at the store down the street" responds the guy

"Well my friend, i invite you to go to the store down the street and buy the shoes there" says the owner with an annoyed face.

"Oh, well i would but they have been out of stock for months" replies the guy.

"You don't say my friend, you dont say" says the owner while nodding.

Moral of the story:

A price is the amount of currency needed to buy and sell an object, if you can't buy AND sell at that price, then its not a price.

There is no place in the world where you can buy USD at 66 rubles so its not a real price.

It's also appropriate to point to the Potemkin story.

Actually a pretty interesting narrative, lol

Putin has pretty serious health issues saw his gate when walking to the viewing stand and a recent photo show obvious signs of makeup to cover red blotches on his face possibly going throw first stages of cancer treatments. He also for the first time missed a hockey game that he used to participate in and may explain his efforts in Ukraine.

I hope so, because this just shows your low IQ and naivette at eating Russian propaganda.

So observing that the Russian ruble is stronger than before the war and that Russia isn't going through an economical crisis unlike what people pretend is eating Russian propaganda? Are you sure it's not rather you blindly eating that big fat Western propaganda?

Tell me my friend, where in Russia or elsewhere can buy USD at the price of 66 rubles?

So if you're seeing that a currency isn't doing as bad as what people say, it means you have to then change all your money to that currency to prove that your observation is right even though you don't particularly invest let alone would make no use of that currency in your country or for your daily activities?

What kind of argument is that?

That's like if I told you your wife cheated on you and you told me you'd only believe me if I fuck her too and show evidence of it lol.

The Ruble is going up exponentially because of 'success', so what's the issue?

If you purchase your Rubles now, you'll only benefit going forward, because it's doing so well?

Why would you equate that with something horrible like a cheating wife?

The currency isn't "doing bad" the currency ceased to exist, the ruble isn't a currency anymore, there are no FOREX exchanges anymore there is no place where you can buy or sell rubles, all the trade is being carried out by Russia who forces companies inside Russia to sell their hard currency at a fixed price set by the Russian government and they can't buy back USD.

Basically the Russian ruble as a currency is gone, there is no point in arguing about the "market price" of a currency that evaporated from the markets in the first place.

These couple of posters don't want to hear it, they just want to pretend the sanctions aren't working for some reason.

But if the sanctions weren't working, they'd still be trading and they wouldn't have a 20 % interest rate (an all time high).

It's weird having discussions with posters that are aware of those facts, but still act like they've no idea how the Ruble is doing 'so well'.

Standard denialism.

ya you honestly do not understand how currency works.

If there is no market where you can buy and sell or exchange your currency then it has no value.

You can draw a picture right now and just say it is worth a million dollars and never trade or sell it and die stating it is worth a million but if the only price you can get to steel or trade it is $1 then it is worth $1.

If you were correct, yes you should buy rubles as should other high risk currency buyers.
