Almost all the anti-american sentiment in europe is directed towards the government + politics and not the people; but we almost universally hate our own governments too (the French are the champions at this.)
I don't think I've ever met anyone who's had a problem with American people, they're generally well liked across the continent.
There is a government hate but there is a dislike from their tourists, not the old people above 40, but the younger kids who are usually loud and annoying. To think US is a superpower because they are loved or respected is a trip, they are a superpower because they are ruthless commercially and in foreign policy, nobody spends as much on wars as Americans.
Russians are just trying to play the same game but with no means to do it like the Americans. For one Russians cannot even get public opinion on their side, ever.
