This one is the toughest to watch, but truly a masterpiece. Hollywood simply couldn't make something like this, watch it if you haven't already. By far the best WW2 movie ever made. "Come and see", directed by Elem Klimov.

I bought the criterion collector's version of this film because Sherdog recommended it.

For sure. I think a home is the only thing the average person should be in debt for. Student debt is ok IF it's going to get you where you need to be. So many people rack up huge debt on useless degrees and wonder why they can't get ahead in life. Buying or leasing new cars that you cant afford is the worst though. I think real estate is always a good investment unless it's a bubble market, which it may be down there, I don't know.

I don’t think Putin ever wanted Kiev, day by day it becomes pretty clear. Or, that he wasn’t prepared to escalate to that point, which was always going to be especially brutal and bloody for both sides

Or maybe he went in swinging wide looking for a quick KO and walked into a few good punches that have him on the back foot. Like a contender stepping in the ring against a journeyman but once he gets there it's Emanuel Steward in the opposing corner and he ends up with more than he bargained for.

It's very well made. Come And See has a reputation as pacifist war movie, but instead it's the classic story of the Russians being the victims suffering for the motherland and then there's a nice little denazification in the end.

Really disturbing stuff because of how fresh all the bodies are. I can stomach really mutilated or long dead bodies because they hardly resemble a human but it's harder to see a stiffened out granny that just died or a child in a vegetative state.

Due to the cold temperatures, you are not seeing the bloated bodies and horrific smell of decomposition. The dead bodies are frozen. It is all horrible, specially when they are women and children. It has a very negative emotional effect on those that have to clean up those dead bodies. A lot of world attention to this war. Reminds me of the daily war footage we had on the Vietnam war here in the US. Afghanistan and Iraq were more sterilized.

It's you cool you don't agree man, what I'm telling you is 100% going to happen.
There is a "WARRR" going in a major European city rn, yet no videos of skirmishes, bombings or deaths in any facet other than some field in the distance being blown up. The President of Ukraine is making huge and bold claims with absolutely zero evidence, making grandiose speeches and rhetoric, "On the ground reports" of almost 1k dead russian soldiers and in 2022...we've seen none of it.
Fat chance. If you buy it, cool.

This is a giant military exercise from both. I'm sure there have been casualties. But this if this were 1/10th of what we're being told it is, we would see something...anything.

Actually, nobody saw it coming in such a manner. Was a surprise to me and almost everyone in Russia. I've read an interview with Hostomel airfield assault participants recently, they were like "we were 99% sure there will be a no-go signal before we saw cruise missiles flying overhead".

Best movie about Stalingrad is naturally the 1949 USSR made Battle of Stalingrad. Russians are having a terrible time in the city under siege until Stalin gets tired of all the loser generals making bad decisions, takes control of strategy and suddenly the defenders start chasing the Germans back to west killing them relentlessly in the endless frozen wastelands. 3 house and 12 minutes of pure Stalinist joy.
