So much for the special military operation and over in a week. More bodies to die for Putliers war.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the country’s military to increase the maximum number of troops by nearly 170,000 people, as Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine continues into its 22nd month.

Putin’s decree was released by the Kremlin on Friday and took force immediately. It brings the strength of the armed forces to 1.32 million service personnel and increases the overall number of Russian military personnel to about 2.2 million."

He's gone full retard at this point and has no choice but to keep doubling down. Sounds like UKR will also be going into more of a defensive mode with offensive pushes too costly for the gains and Russia is back on the offensive on many fronts. I wonder what Putin really thinks he will achieve? Is he just going to continue to attack no stop everywhere? At some point something has to give with the massive cost of a non stop offensive with money ,men and equipment.

" I didn't had applied sanctions on Russian Federation because United States had removed navy ships from Black Sea before Russian invasion in Ukraine with this had proved allowance to invade and weakness as supposed world hegemon ".
Erdogan.

For Putin all Ukraine is Russia nothing else while for short term political goals he needs at least physically control Luhansk and Donetsk oblastjs till February 2024 th. Later will move forward and at any cost.

commander-in-chief Micael Bydén has visited Ukraine for the first time since Russia's full-scale invasion began. In an interview with Dagens Nyheter, he describes himself as sad and angry after traveling through the shattered villages and seeing the destruction with his own eyes. "There are only civilians there, no military threats, nothing that really has any bearing on military combat. Yet (the Russians) only look to destroy. The purpose of the visit was, among other things, to evaluate Combat Vehicle 90 and the Archer artillery system – two military contributions from Sweden that, according to Bydén, will be of great benefit to the Ukrainian army."

Archer is very good 👍 while low number of them and delivered too late. ...
IFV like 90 are more durable than some BTR-80, BTR 82 or BMP 2....while again deliveries too late and not high number of them.

he did ruin theyre aerospace industry which was one of the best in the world. Ask yourself, when have you seen a new Mig?
Russian Mig 29 are upgraded seriously and this means radioelectronic and radar & software for radar.....
They are very durable and still highly usable for some tasks.
They still are more cocky about airfields while are more usable on bad quality airfields than F-16....while still more demanding than Grippen about airfields quality.

Ukr ofc will not get this but I think best stuff for them had been to get some Su-25 and enough F-15 plus Grippen.....

Not likely they will get such batches and even F-16 will be slow and small supplies with beautiful delays for a reason.....reason we all in reality do know.

Wars of attrition aren't won by taking small bits of territory, they're won by entirely removing the enemies ability to fight. Look at ww1. Germany still controlled loads of captured territory when they signed the armistice.

Putin probably thinks Russia is the GOAT at winning wars of attrition because of how ww2 panned out.

Unfortunately for him, Russia hasn't won a war like that without support since 1812, and it's Ukraine getting all the support this time.

Its the same story being repeated. Ukraine is punching above its weight in the war, it can inflict serious casualties in defense and do deep attacks against ports, factories, airbases, transport infrastructure to degrade the Russian war machine but it doesn't have the strength of numbers in the field to push back against Russian advances all the time. Ukraine is slowly giving way in Avdiivka and can't seem to make a dent on either of the Russian salients around the city.
They'll be pretty happy with the results of Avdiivka even if they do have to give it up.
Perun bought satellite imagery and did some comparisons to other battles and the war in general in regards to equipment losses. Avdiivka resulted in some very one sided vehicle losses.

Partially I agree because Erdogan had high inflation even before Covid and during Covid it turned even worse, after war in Ukr even more worse. Doesn't help also their reliance on Russian fossil fuels import and reality that they unfortunately had worse harvest that had been predicted.
While obiviously removal of fleet from Black Sea and relocation of embassy perssonel from Kiev to Lvov before invasion was awful mistake done by POTUS administration and Pentagon.

I agree with you for the most part, but don't forget that all Ukraine has to do is just resist. Is Putin willing to continue to burn his economy and men? Don't forget that he hasn't even gotten to the hard part yet.

The occupation of Ukraine.

I agree, the cost of this war for Putler is huge and is only getting worse as he will be spending 40% of the country's budget on the military which is crazy and obviously something has to give. They managed to get more soldiers by offering a lot more money which is a big cost not to mention all the supplies and equipment for them. And yes big question is how many will die and how bad financial situation get's before he stops?
Him being insane at this point I think he will let Russia burn before he stops. He has been slowly changing laws to suit his war and basically not allowing people to leave country who have been mobilized.

Depends where the battle is? In UKR? Russia is hard to beat as they are very simple with their tactics… mass artillery, meat wave and armor attacks… over and over and over. Even UKR knows it’s coming still hard to stop an army with seemingly endless armor and meat and 0 regards for life and equipment.
People keep saying this but no one, Ukr or RU, do "meat attacks". It's just propaganda when either side says it.

All the combat footage of Russia has shown they're very much on the lower end of the scale when it comes to valuing the lives of their soldiers.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "meat attacks".

We're not seeing human wave attacks that happened in other conflicts, because both sides here have great difficulty massing troops as they're both watching each other with drones and any big accumulation instantly becomes number 1 artillery target.

Like Jimbob27 said It depends on your definition of it, however they have been sending infantry units towards frontlines in many different fronts which can be described as suicide missions as most of the units get entirely wiped out. That was true in Bakhmut and now in Avdiivka as there has been massive loses for the little ground that has been taken.

I also think we're all probably smart enough to work out what is likely to be propaganda and what's real. When characters like Yevgeny Prigozhin and US general Mark Milley are saying the same thing, which also aligns with intercepted Russian soldiers phonecalls, and what the Ukrainians are saying..... I think you can probably determine there's some truth there.

As brutal as it is, it's also fairly normal military strategy. Probe with your low value units in the hope of making the defenders expose their positions.
