Guys we can't help Ukraine because problems exist in America. But also, I am opposed to all social spending and I want to cut what already exists.

I'm smart.
Chuds trot out that exact same gotcha rhetoric over and over. It's completely disingenuous. You really think a guy like San Marino supports actualy fixing the problems at home? His idea of "fixing" is going to be some reactionary hogwash that gives rich people tax breaks, etc. Certainly going to vote for the people that try to enact those policies, rhetoric aside (if he even votes). And of course on top of all that, "fixing problems at home" isn't somehow mutually exclusive with supporting allies abroad. Fuuuuurthermore, if Russia actually managed to seize Ukraine, and then god knows what else in that region, the immediate stranglehold they would have on the global food supply would certainly make that foreign war a domestic issue very very quickly. These bozos whining about egg prices would escalate 1000% overnight. There's no winning here because for him, it's just a pure partisan issue. He wants his perceived political and social opposition to fail, full stop, and thinks he's being clever by refusing to just own up to his nonsense as though it isn't already super transparent

Acktually during every war America has ever fought or supported they've had 0 social or economic issues to deal with at home except Ukraine... curious.

They say Putin has several body doubles.

For some reason this always saddened me.
To be operated on, to have someone elses face and lose your own self.
I had this feeling with Saddam too.

. Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin have met for a second set of talks at the Kremlin.
The Chinese and Russian leaders signed a series of documents on a “strategic cooperation” after what Putin described as “successful and constructive” talks which showed that China-Russian relations were at the “highest point” in “the whole history of our two countries.” The Chinese president’s trip to Moscow has been viewed as a major boost for his strategic partner, Putin.

. Xi said China had an “impartial position” on the conflict in Ukraine and that it supported peace and dialogue.
Russian state media reported. Xi said talks with his Russian counterpart had been “open and friendly.” Putin, speaking at the joint news conference, said Beijing’s proposal to end the Ukraine conflict could be the basis for a peaceful settlement – when the west is ready for it. (The west? Not Ukraine? The west meaning the US?)

. Ukraine is holding its defense of the city of Bakhmut as Russian forces attempted to advance to the city center.
There was intense fighting along the eastern frontline, Oleksandr Syrskyi, the commander of Ukrainian ground forces, said.

Trying to sound intelligent?

MIC: YEAAAAHHHH!!!! FUCK YEAH!!! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ YEAH!!!!

Oil and Natural Gas Companies:
Ummmm... guys.... we can end the war in Ukraine in months. Guys?

. Top US general says it will be really hard and cost a lot of 'blood and treasure' for Ukraine to 'kick out every single Russian' invader (msn.com)
What's this? Miley, and possibly Biden, making a turn on a Ukrainian victory?
  • Top US general says it will be really hard and cost a lot of 'blood and treasure' for Ukraine to 'kick out every single Russian' invader.
  • The top US general believes Russia's war in Ukraine will likely end at the negotiating table.
  • It'll cost Ukraine a lot of "blood and treasure" and be really difficult to expel all the invading Russians, he said. (He means the US)
  • Gen. Mark Milley's comments come amid a floundering Russian offensive in eastern Ukraine.

Pretty much, Putin to this very day doesn't considers Ukraine as an independent country.

Even African warlords aren't as idiotically belligerent as Russia. It's a shame we must suffer the Russian state's archaic imperialist existence in the 21st century.

Eh. If you gave some of those warlords a fraction of Russia's arsenal you'd find they'd not only be as belligerent but far far far worse.

Yeah, this seems pretty shitty but kind of logical, why waste your best troops in a deathtrap meant to keep Russians busy instead of preparing for the counteroffensive planned for spring/summer.

Props for acknowledging the post mate.

A couple of things you seem to have missed:

1. What has actually been spent in Ukraine to date is a subset of of what has been approved for spending.

2. What has been spent on military aid for Ukraine is a subset of what has been spent on total aid in Ukraine (which includes humanitarian aid etc.)

So if you read beyond those headlines, you will find that those sources are basically saying the same thing as your original source, which said that around $32B was spent aiding Ukraine militarily to date.

Props for acknowledging the post mate.

Well as much as i support Ukraine, i do realize that a country fighting a full war specially in home soil will always resort to some shitty shenanigans, also Ukraine army isn't completely modernized a lot of the soviet mentality still remains.

I don't blame them but i won't justify them either, they are clearly using Bakhmut as a way to grind Russians down so they are probably throwing a lot of expendables there to hold the fort as artillery and special forces kill the Wagnerites.
