I can see maybe in a dogfight. But, the F-22 is meant for long range and is able to "talk" over military networks, allowing it to shoot targets out of the sky before the pilot can see them and before the enemy knows they're there. If you watch video on the F-22 compared to some other fighters, you'll see it's not the best at maneuverability, it isn't designed to be.

I honestly think they're fucking around with the prices and putting money into some black project budget. No way these planes can cost this much and still not work correctly.

Raptor is still king of the mountain for now. Both it and the F35 have significant advantages in terms of signature management (ie stealth), the flow on effects that has into the electronic wafare domain, data fusion and data sharing. Given that these are the things that actually give a jet the ability to get the first shot off successfully, that's a pretty big deal.

PAK FA is set to get a new powerplant soonish which could help to even the odds somewhat but only time shall tell. As it stands there are only what? 9 of them?
