PRISM, the continued prohibition, and the drone strikes (although I sort of understand that) hurt his image a lot but IMO the real left wanted Sanders, he represented change from the norm much the way Trump did to the conservatives (although Sanders was far far more consistent in his ideology) The DNC turned their back on democracy by knowingly shilling for Hillary and ignoring the want of the voters.
