[RUMOR] Alvarez refusing to sign to fight Khabib; fight may be in jeopardy

Eddie is literally ducking Khabib shows he is not a real champion and should be an embarrassment to any of his Fans in Philly.

He's trying to make alot of money fighting Conor, that's the fight his fans in Philly want to see.

That "real champion" nonsense is for the birds it doesn't make dollars and sense.

UFC is in the prize fighting business.

I say strip him of the belt.

4 man bracket to crown new champ. Conor vs. Cerrone /// Khabib vs Nate

I don't think we'll see Conor on UFC205, no matter the circumstances, the PPV will do a million buys because of the hype. They need to save Conor for a later PPV, like UFC207.

HAHAHAHA....205 ain't doing anywhere close to 1M PPV buys with that current card.

This is an interesting article, pay attention to the names, Edgar, McGregor, Khabib, also the middle eastern names. Maybe Eddie isn't comfortable with the interests in his suggested opponents and their association with people who own a chunk of the UFC, also this stinks of some kind of politics. The first New York card and you put a Muslim who will likely be the favorite to win as the main event?

Well it looks like Dana is putting his foot down and putting Eddie in his place and telling him he has to fight Khabib or else his belt is gone, and a chance with a red panty night against conor happening in the future will never happen for little Ed. Dana is putting his foot down with Conor too now it seems. That's the way it should be anyways.

Snowballs cuz Conor wants to hold 2 belts at the same time...because he said so.

Dana would miss out on alot of money by "putting his foot down" and not making this fight happen.

Being injured and choosing not to defend your belt are different things tho, Fightings a tough sport injuries happen i understand that part of the game, sucks for sure but i still look at that different then just choosing not to defend your belt even once. Thats like all champs saying well i beat everyone and now i have the belt so its pointless for me to fight in that division. Aldo cleared it out, fought guys a second time around cleared it out again till new challenges came up. Thats a dominate champ. I like the idea of super fdights, champs verus champs, but i dont consider it a super fight with 2 guys who have never defended their belts.
I personally dont rate a win over nate especially after how conor lost the first time as enough to get a LW title shot. The way i see it, if conor got his demand on an immediate rematch cause he couldnt accept lossing to nate in a pointless fight, he should understand why the most dominate fighter 145 has ever seen wanting a rematch for his belt.

All valid points, just don't see why some seem so opposed to Conor defending FW after he tries to make history by beating the LW champ. If it's the length of time since he won said belt I think that can be overlooked bc of how long previous camps have gone without fighting. Your point about injuries is valid, but Conor has been entertaining our asses off and selling record amounts of PPV's in the meantime.

Funny how so many lament the demise of Pride but I'd be willing to bet a lot of the same people are very vocal against Conor fighting Eddie all in the name of "legitimacy". Pride was all about the show, and it was glorious. UFC has been much more meritocracy-orientated, but I think during their bad years (2013 ish), they were missing that spectacle feeling. I think Conor is breaking barriers cus he's both spectacle and legitimate talent. I dunno I'm going off on a tangent though haha.

He realizes that obviously, but there are more money fights long term, that include Conor. He probably isnt worried about that as its showing that Eddie will be likely fighting Khabib at 206, which is great for legitimacy for title fights in the ufc again, finally.

I think the smarter move would be for Conor, Ronda or Brock to be on the UFC 205 NYC first ever MSG card.

Conor vs Eddie would be the biggest fight possible maybe even bigger than Stipe vs Brock for the HW title.

Eddie Alvarez gonna get dropped playing this game and get sent right back to Bodog fights

Too late for that to happen. It's already showing that Eddie will fight khabib at 206, eddie can whine all he wants but if he refuses to fight Khabib at 206, he will most definitely be stripped of the belt.

Eddie better not push this.

He can't refuse the challenger if the UFC is insisting.

It was the greatest for sure, ill watch either fight to be honest and be fucking pumped either way. Some people take it all so serious like its life or death for them, act personally insulted when fights get made that its not what they want but watch them all anyway. Aldo asking for the lw title fight backl when he was champ and them straight up saying no but giving it to conor at this point is a bit bias, but fuck who cares lol conor sells like you said everyone is going to watch the fights.
Id rather aldo/conor, kabib/eddie then winners fight type of thing, but again i feel like aldo wouldnt get the same opportunity conor does at this stage

Cant remember where but I saw that they sent over a new bout agreement with Khabib but moved to 206. It sounds like the UFC may not be taking an ounce of crap from Alvarez on this one.

Schaub said (so take with a grain of salt) that they had the Conor vs. Alvarez fight all set up and then Alvarez asked for more money and PPV points and the UFC said nope now you're fighting Khabib.
