So here is my current ruger 10 22. So far I have added a weaver aluminum rail to replace the plastic one. I changed out the barrel with a stainless fluted bull barrel that is 18in long. I switched the stock out with a boyds tacticool stock. I put a weaver rv9 3x9 scope on it. The rings are weaver quad-lock rings. I got a blackhawk bipod for fun, haven't really had a chance to use it too much yet.

    Mods:

    ruger 10/22 - about $200
    weaver rv9 scope - $230
Green Mountain 18'' ss fluted bull barrel - $170
    boyds tacticool stock - $100
    blackhawk bipod - $40
    weaver rail - $10
weaver quad lock rings - $10

Here is mine. Nothing too exotic.

    Ruger 10/22 Stainless Barrell
    Archangel Stock kit
    Holographic site

I really wish the trigger guard was black. I might need to Duracoat that. Havent sited it in since I converted this to the new stock either.

Its a nice little plinker, and the mods you can do to 10/22 can be addictive. Much more dependable than a .22 AR too IMHO...

    10/22 $210
    Archangel kit $190
    Holographic site $65

I like the bipod, but I was looking at a fore grip too. Part of me wants to mall ninja the hell out of this gun lol, but a nice bipod would help with the plinking. This is my only "tacticool" gun. There honestly fun to build too...

I like the kit, what sight are you using? You could upgrade your trigger group, although those run about $200 for a nice one

The kit is pretty cool. A little pricey, but it comes with everything you see in the pic sans the site. Im not sure about the brand of the site. I bought it with the kit at a gun show. It wasnt too expensive and is easy to pick up when aiming. I need to site it in now. Maybe a trigger is next for the mods. Hmmmm.

BTW Archangel makes kits for SKS, Mini 14 and 10/22. Really wish I had not sold my Mini 14 as it would have been fun to mod that out too, plus they are damn near impossible to get now...

Those are both good looking guns. Making me want to buy a Ruger soon.

My friend has the same archangel kit on his. Fits pretty good surprisingly. The Ruger 25 round mags look funny out of the enlarged magwell. The only thing I don't really like is that its added some weight to the gun. I wouldn't call it a heavy gun but it is heavier.

I like the target model, you got the best of the best brand scope and bipod for sure. Have you done any long distance shooting with it?
