Have to admit I don't know a lot about him but I remember him from Vakill's album & some J Love mix tapes some time ago, also remember he had some affiliation with immortal Technique somewhere down the line.

If you're taking a long walk check this out. because he expands on that last one.. The only thing is...he never brings up how Dre signed Eminem..probably because of his temporary affiliation with Slaughterhouse (who Em signed eventuall). But still. lol.. Its pretty enlightening

Also been years since I heard someone mention Vakill

 
Royce shouldnt have parted with eminem when he brought Royce in on interscope records when he signed with dr dre. Royce felt underappreciated and went his own way and em brought in D12 to replace Royce . A beef started between D12 and Royce and this didnt do Royces career much good.
Shame though because the bad meets evil stuff that Royce and em did was a lot better then the D12 stuff and no doubt Royce wouldve been huge had he stayed at interscope/shady records.

At least someone knows the history here.

I still think Royce should be huge even though he kinda fucked his own career over. His music holds up to me. I listen to everything from KRS to Kendrick.. I just can't see someone beating Royce on wax. Maybe Lupe if he was into rap battles.

Bar Exam 1 and 2 are just masterpieces.. I have never heard a single mixtape that can top either one of those. He took other rappers beats and lyrically shitted on them. And like he said "I'm not really trying that hard right now, I'm just having fun"



How do you beat that? lol

Does nothing for me unfortunately man, not just lyrically but that production just doesn't move me at all

But it's cool, different people different tastes, I'm not gonna front on anyone that likes something I don't.

I don't listen to much new stuff any more, though I have a real soft spot for Chuuwee & Trizz - I mean listen to this, you can tell I'm not a hip hop snob or anything, guess I just like what I like

Nipsey Hustle (RIP) wasn't really my cup of tea music wise but I would have never said the guy was 'shit' just because I wasn't feeling his music.
 
Yeah Royce deserves more credit then he gets but i imagine its tough when u start beef with the biggest producer in hiphop (dre). Well he didnt really beefed with dre but he want on his good side either. But to be fair he totally murdered D12 in that malcom X diss track. Is one of the better diss tracks out there if u ask me.

Isnt he doing stuff with em again these days? Im not really up to date with hiphop anymore myself these days.

It's the production on this particular track I can't dig, like, I just wouldn't listen to that music, so even if it had Black Thought or AG over it, it wouldn't move me.
