Kinda crazy when you think about it.

UFC fighters have mastered nothing. They're good in a handful of things.

I'm just waiting for a boxer with elite potential make the transition to MMA early and train TDD and kicks and footwork to start. They'd clown their opponents.

Kinda reminds me of my dojo. I clown all the amateurs and low level pros in the standup due to my background in shotokan. In the grappling department I'm usually beat, but just goes to show how specialization can lead to domination.

Roy Jones could KO Israel in a boxing match if he wanted to.

Nevertheless, Roy Jones still respects the hands of Forrest Griffin

Obviously Roy Jones can Ko Israel if his chin holds. I don't know if he has the speed and reaction time anymore though

You didn't read the post... I'm talking about 1) how his boxing is so much better at age 51 than almost the entire current UFC roster and 2) how he'd KO Israel in a boxing only match. How does that have anything to do with RJJ in MMA?

Just a typical insecure MMA fan. And you're 100% right.

Well yes, a lifelong boxer will look better in boxing and probably beat mma fighters in a pure boxing match, even well past their prime. And....... so what? Obviously a person that's trained only boxing their entire life would be better at boxing.

Isn't that nuts though, that even with losing all of his youth and athleticism he's still better at boxing? You'd think the MMA fighters would catch up at some point, especially if they've been fighting for over 10 years.

Good bout of striking sports reminds you how shitty MMA strikers are. How good would MMA be if elite strikers took up MMA the same way elite wrestlers do

And 100% of UFC's fighters' kicks look better than RJJ's.

There's a simple explanation for that, he's never trained kicks... ever.

UFC fighters have been training boxing for years - some for close to 10 years or more. What's their excuse?

Credit to GSP for training with Roach, at least he picked up a deadly jab.

Khamzat rag dolls Roy Jones Jr. in freestyle wrestling match. Am I doing it right?

His hands are better than 100% of the ufc roster. I mean cmon. 95%. Tell me an mma fighter who is better. It doesn’t exist.

I mean... no man. No. Roy is one of the best to ever do it, and has been boxing for almost 4 decades at this point. I'd be amazed if ANY mma fighter was anywhere near his level at pure boxing.

Dude is on the sauce again, or still, so he is regaining his youth quite literally from a hormonal standpoint. He also is one of the GOAT boxers. MMA fighters aren't even boxers to begin with. If it is weird there is a huge discrepancy, then you don't really understand the differences between the sports.

Sorry but if you train at a “dojo” nothing you say is relevant
