Where are the young hungry prospects in mma?We only see rematch after rematch these days with the same old guys.
Cruz and Faber fought 10 years ago and here we are again ffs.

HW:We had Cain vs JDS 3,now Werdum would have fought Cain for the 2nd time.
LHW:Jones vs DC 2.
MW:Weidman vs Luke 2.
WW:We had Lawler vs Hendricks 2 and Lawler vs Rory 2.Now he'll probably rematch Condit or Rory AGAIN.
LW:We'll probably have RDA vs Nate 2.We had Frankie vs BJ 2(3), Frankie vs Bendo 2.Pettis vs Bendo 2.
FW:We'll have Conor vs Aldo 2.
BW:Cruz vs Faber 3.After the rematchs of Barao vs TJ we'll have Cruz vs TJ 2.
FLW:We'll have MM vs Benavidez 3 after he beats Cejudo.

Women:
BW:Tate vs Rousey 3 and afterwards Rousey vs Holm 2.
SW:Joanna vs Gadelha 2

WTF is going on,i''m a bit tired of seeing the same fights over and over again. We already have the most shallow division's ever and there are only like 3 good guys in it.Why isn't there no one else?In every other sport you see thousands taking over every year who are great and in mma fighters doesn't seem to be evolving at all. Why??

there are other options in some of the divisions, but the ufc loves rematches. Divisions like WBW, SW, and flyweight don't have alot of options right now though, but every other division has no excuse

The only rematches which have sense:
Jones vs DC (because Jones isn't the champ)
Lawler vs Condit in a future (first was close)
Joanna vs Gadelha (first was close too)

Other than those, only if the contender made 3 win streak or something like that, shouldn't be happening

Cruz vs Faber is ridiculous. With all due respect to the California kid, he is no way deserves another shot after a decision win against some unknown guy

It's crazy,i feel like i'm always watching the same fights.Rematch after rematch after rematch.

Yep. I give it three more months, tops. Doubt they make it to UFC 200.

Chuck vs Randy 3 Chuck vs Tito 2
Rampage vs Wandy 3
Shogun vs Lil Nog 2
Cain vs JDS 3
GSp vs Hughes 3
BJ vs Hughes 3
BJ vs GSP 2

Same shit, different year.

You've been here since 2011. You should know by now that any time someone asks, "Is MMA/UFC dying?" the answer is no.

Besides Werdum vs Stipe (would be Cain rematch) and MM vs Cejudo, every single title fight will (probably) be a rematch. And the fight after will also be a rematch.

I would like to see some young 20-21 yr old talents who started training mma at 6-7 yrs old tear through the division's and bring some excitement in it.Because as it is right now,i really like watching mma fights but i'm not really looking forward for many fights lately because i've already seen it(even though not every rematch is the same).

Exactly my point. We should be seeing lots of changement in the rankings with lots of new great prospects and instead we get dudes at 40 still fighting the same guys and they're still at the top because there's no one else.

Of course it is dying. The Reebok horseshit will keep all elite athletes from considering MMA.

stfu... ufc is as good as its been in many years, since ufc 100... funny how things are building towards that event.

It's actually because the talent pool is deeper that we're getting all these rematches... The skill gap between these guys is closer making it harder to discern who is clearly better. Also if guys hang around the top of their divisions long enough they're gonna fight again. If you think about it at LHW,MW, WW the rematches make sense.

I believe Lawler will fight Nate Diaz or Woodley

Werdum vs Stipe

RDA vs the winner of Khabib/Ferguson(Technically a rematch if Khabib wins but RDA is a different animal now so it should be exciting)

The UFC is not dying
By 2018 the next generation would've buried the current one

The "same old guys" are often still the best in the division. Werdum and Cain are probably the best HWs. Jones and DC are probably the best LHWs. Rockhold and Weidman are probably the best MWs. Robbie and Rory/Condit are probably the best WWS. This is the same for pretty much every divison. This means the best guys are fighting each other, even if they've fought before it still often results in good fights. Im not keen on the idea of throwing young guys in with more experienced champs and getting eaten

I'm not a big fan of rematches either, but let's not act like this is something new.
