Nobody in the UFC or MMA fans seems to GAF about him, yet he's up there with the most exciting fights and record.

Just because he is a modest, soft spoken guy, he gets no attention from the Karen crowd, nor gets any opportunity.

He beat a former title challenger in a co-main event in his last fight, he's not in a bad position. He'll probably get someone like Krylov next and if he wins that he's in proper contention.
Smith is the definition of a washed fighter who is on everyone's top5 cut list though.

His fights are violent but they aren’t exciting.

He fights slow, he hits hard but very little action in between. He’s also not finishing guys fast.

There’s like 20 seconds of excitement in 10 minutes of Khalil fighting.

He reminds me of Romero, just standing there doing fuck all until he decides to explode and take your head off. No thanks not my style of fights.

Interesting POV. I can understand even if i disagree.

The difference is romero was truly elite and there was a lot going on in his head when he would wait to explode, while khalil throws 3 leg kicks against a guy who can’t defend them and then asks for a title shot

Eh I used to be a fan of Romero until he decided to never explode against Izzy and just stare at him for 25 mins.

I mean Izzy just stared at him too but at least he kicked his leg.

He's such a fun fighter, so I think everyone who knows him wants to watch him. But everyone who has seen him lose probably thinks his ceiling isn't championship level. He has looked vulnerable in a lot of different ways.

We've had some "Pure Kickboxer" world champions as of late, so nothing is impossible. And Khalil might be one of those sneaky fighters who quietly develops into a champion in front of your eyes. His next fight will probably be big and tell us a lot more than his KO over the ghost of Anthony Smith.

4 wins in a row but the guy at the top is the worst possible match up for him. He'd get starched in a round.
