need a cheapo one for when im doing bag work. 30second rest and 1-2min rounds i'd say. the two that look the best are;

and

http://www.amazon.com/Everlast-Inte...qid=1358181514&sr=8-1&keywords=everlast+timer

the first one is the simplest and the one im leaning towards + cheap. the second one is configurable but more bulky and expensive. alternatively there is a blackberry app for like 3 bucks that looks pretty legit too.. anyone have any experience with either of the two timers above or the app?

I have the second one (interval, not the boxing timer) that I was able to pick up for $10. You can program the length of your work and rest periods to whatever you want, as opposed to being limited set times with the first option.

I've had mine for over a year without any problems, but I seem to recall seeing somewhere on this forum that others have not been so lucky with personal everlast timers (not sure if this one in particular, or their 'boxing' timer).

However, I find it a bit bulky when running, and I have to carry my phone with my at all times, so I just use an app. Not having a blackberry, I can't recommend any apps... but are there any free timer apps that you can find? I know there are plenty of good free ones for both iphone and android phones.

The gymboss is cheap and popular --->> http://www.gymboss.com/

edit: Do a search for everlast timer and check the results for reviews...

i couldn't find anything free for the blackberry oddly, just the 2.99 app i linked, which isn't a bad price but at the same time the dedicated clip on unti for 12 bucks isn't bad either, especially since i think my rounds would only be 1-2min and rest 30seconds. plus i can clip the unit on, im not sure where my berry would go lol.

I have the Everlast Interval Timer. I like it because it's easy to use and program. Best of all it's really loud.

the app timer looks real cool actually but not sure if it has a vibe function..

the app looked real sweet, every review was 4-5 stars legit. i just paid the $3 bucks and downloaded it. it has delayed start option, half way timers, you can select any amount of rounds, any length round/rest, the led lights up, it vibes if u want it to, syncs with your music, has 6 pre-config settings already mma/boxing etc.. and 5 slots for your own custom settings. not bad i must say.. the standalone devices aren't bad but cost 3-5x as much and much more in batteries over time. the best part is if i upgrade berries down the road i can install it on my new phone without paying for it again, all in all im pleased:D
