Rothwell gogo choke possibly illegal?

According to the official rules and regulations of the UFC, grabbing the trachea is a foul. So the question is, could Ben Rothwells infamous "gogo" choke be illegal? It seems no one quite knows what the fuck hes doing with his hands once he secures the choke. He himself remains secretive about his hand placement and claims it is different than what anyone else is doing.

Then I saw where Roy Nelson was saying it was a pain submission more than anything. So could he actually be grabbing the trachea or pinching it in some manner to make his opponent submit? Should he be forced to explain this secretive choke to everyone and the referees?

Barnett is the last person to say something in that situation. Hes the same guy who went on record telling referees to not stop the fight and just let him die in the cage. Hes very similar to Chael when he said he didnt care that Anderson pulled his shorts and given the opportunity he wouldve done the same thing. Hes not someone who bitches and moans about things.

He's not grabbing the trachea or throat. He's cupping the chin and digging the blade of his hand into the throat. Not illegal and it's not really a secret but Ben acts like it is.
