Ross Pearson couldve been a perennial top 10 guy if his fight IQ wasnt terrible

The Edson fight which he still arguably won but he made so many dumb choices. Trinaldo fight, Dunham, Iaquinta after a strong start. Only time Ross was dominated from pillar to post was against Cub Swanson.

Its been the story of his career.

Now against Brooks he clinches with maybe the best clinch fighter @ LW. He was lighting him up with body and head shots against the fence with Brooks basically nothing but having his hands up. It looked like Ross couldve hurt him badly maybe even pursued a finish. So what does he do? Go for double underhooks.........then Brooks gets back into the fight with the clinch.

lol fight IQ so dumb

A lot of blows to the head will do that. Also depends on where and how he trains with.

Yeah it was a dumb decision, couldn't believe he clinched instead of trying to finish

I always root for Pearson. Dude throws down with no concern. Didn't get to watch the entire fight but by the highlights I had a feeling Brooks got the decision.

WAR Pearson always

Didn't read TS post however, you should have realized from his fight game that he had a slight chance of rising to the top. All stand-up, hardly any ground game. Dude always brings a good show, gotta be great full for that as a fight fan.

Ross was doing pretty decent against Cub and had a couple takedowns...although he was starting to get picked apart pretty good when he lost IIRC. But yeah Ross's best chance was with his hands for sure.

Wasnt very smart of Brooks to rest against the cage and let him tee off either

Huh, I was going to say Will had bad fight IQ over Ross in the 3rd round but ok.

Nah he really isn't that good. Dime a dozen meat and potato striking and solid tdd/bjj. Nothing special.

Can't argue w/that.

Good instincts and fundamentals, bad fight IQ
