dude is an animal. His nose broken in the first, leg gets smashed in and never quits. Deserved the win. That nose is gonna be a problem the rest of his career though. Anyone who questioned his heart after he dropped in the fifth against lawler is an idiot.

It was an ugly win, but clear as day. His war with Lawler gave him the experience to make good decisions in the championship rounds and close it out with the tools he had.

Still, Lima looked strong and sharp against Rory in the standup and even clinch.

Great fight, not the most exciting, but knowing Rory's history made it very dramatic.

Heart is usually the compliment we give the loser. But damn, Rory showed heart.

In this rare instance the losing fighter walked out of his own volition, while the winner had to be carried out by his team.

Yeah I was super impressed with Rory's will to win after the nose and leg injuries, especially with how good Lima has looked up to this point. People were claiming him the best WW in the world in the pbp thread when Rory went down from that leg kick haha.

I honestly was impressed the most by Rory out of the three championship fights we got to see last night from both orgs.

Toughest guy in MMA. Without question. I am really impressed with these Bellator matchups. Its a good product increasingly.

I have had my nose broken many times in judo. It is a forever problem.

He is a true warrior and spirit of a martial artist in the best sense of the word..
Even bloodsport back in the day was tame compared to the red king..frank dux my arse, rory is the man.

Rory is a beast, plain and simple

The thing I thought before the fight was Lima's size would be a problem and it was. Dude is a big ww and Rory struggled with him, but he dug deep and kept grinding.. He deserved that win

That being said, I think Lima will be back. He looked pissed after the fight, probably aware he was going to lose the decision, but he fought well imo

And if Lima comes back with adjustments, so will Rory. I would hope Firas and the team will have an answer to the low kicks in a rematch down the road, those were a factor I assumed would pose a problem for Rory and he will need to learn how to check those if and when the two meet again

All that said, Lima is definitely a top 5 ww, regardless of organization. Dude is a killer, but Rory's will and toughness won him the fight.

That fight was pretty terrible tbh. Rory was hanging on for dear life, didn't deal out ANY damage in that fight. Great heart, but not a good fight.

It's too bad about that nose. That will defiantly be a crutch for the rest of his career. I wonder how long he will be sideline for? He took a long time off after the Thompson fight to let his nose heal. Maybe we won't see him back for another 6-12 months?

Rory fought amazing considering how much of a Beast Lima is. His leg was jacked up and he still took Lima down at will.

Mad props to Rory. Dude made the right adjustments after he realized his leg was about to fall off

Switching southpaw gave him an easier single leg attempt. Lima wasn’t prepared for that.

Some people are saying it wasn’t a good fight, but I disagree. Wasn’t a completely slugfest, but the way the fight played out and the momentum shifts had me very vested in the fight.

They will meet again.

Obvious troll is obvious

Rory delt no damage... especially in the 5th round when he was landing elbow after elbow and had Lima's face all cut up

Lima has to feel horrible. Rory looked done, then Rory gets the takedown to hang on in the 4th round and gets the takedown in the beginning of the 5th round. All Lima really had to do was keep the fight standing and it was all his

The bolded is what many didn't notice. It confused Lima ultimately as he never really trained to fight a southpaw or anyone that can fight southpaw. And Rory took full advantage.

He had a busted leg, a busted nose, he was beat to hell... but knew he had to win that 5th and came out and got it done

Big respect

Rory did an amazing thing. I was genuinely shocked the ref didn't stop the fight after Rory dropped from the kick. I thought his shin broke in half like Silva's, but then Rory pulled guard and i had no idea what was going on.

Amazing fight.
