You'll be surprised if Rory can take him down when Rory hasn't failed to take someone down(when he attempted any) except the second fight with Lawler? I think you're overrating Wonderboy's takedown defense in a huge way here.

I think it'll be a great fight, but I'm not a fan of the timing of it. IMO Wonderboy should be getting a title fight. A loss for Rory is devastating, but a win for him doesn't do anything either, presumably. Are they going to make Lawler/Rory III if he wins? I doubt it. I would've rather seen Rory vs. Condit II and Wonderboy get the title shot or fight Woodley if Conor ends up fighting Lawler at 200. If Condit ends up rematching Lawler, they could've done Rory/Hendricks and Wonderboy/Woodley.

If Wonderboy wins I think it's safe to assume he's getting the title shot. If Rory wins though I wonder if they set up the trilogy. Usually losing twice to a champ is the kiss of death but those fights were close and the second was fantastic. They might just give him one more crack at it. Normally I'd be against it but how can you not want to see that fight one more time?
All that being said, I'm talking Wonderboy. The guy just looks like he's destined for a title

But, The fights for WW should have been decided after tomorrow. 2 scenarios:

1) Rory vs Condit / Lawler vs Conor / Wonderboy vs Woodley

or

2) Rory vs Bigg Rigg / Lawler vs Wonderboy / Woodley vs Condit

All great matchups.

What if Rory wins and they book Rory/Lawler III and Rory wins by a close UD or a split decision or something? Lawler/Rory IV? They already made the trilogy mistake with Cain and JDS.

Wonderboy used to train a lot at Tristar Firas has said. I wonder if they have trained together.

Rory is good at sticking to a game plan. He is one of the few I think that can beat Wonderboy in that division right now.

Rory has really good takedowns, but you saw what happened to Hendrix who is a better wrestler (just compare both of their success against the sprawl of Lawler)

Also the striking of Rory depends too much on the jab, front kick and maintaining the distance vs. Wonderboy, a southpaw with the best striking and distance control in the division, and coming from that terrible loss, right now this is the worst possible matchup for Rory, I really don't know what his team is thinking.
